NinjaScout Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Hello all! My bucket arrived from down under. I have been searching threads for how to insert padding or something else to get the right fit on the helmet so it isn't flopping all over the place. What are some good suggestions for finishing off the helmet on the inside? Thanks!!
bugdozer Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I use strips of upholstery foam, glued in - a couple either side at the top, one at the back, one on the forehead. Enough to let it grip on my head when it turns without being tight. 1
wookieevader Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I used replacement padding for a baseball batters helmet. It came with little velcro dots to put wherever you want to and can remove the padding at will Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk 1
DizzyStormtrooper Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 +1 for upholstery foam. walmart has squares of varying thinknesses in the sewing/crafts section. ive used it in all my tk's so they dont bobble around like a bell and theres only a few strips needed so it keeps air circulating. i secure it with low temp hot glue so it makes removal easy later on 1
khazara Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 I used the accurate hardhat liner with bolts that I believe a member is still selling in the for sale forum. 2
NinjaScout Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 Todd, How did the headband kit fit inside the altmann? Did you have to do any mods?
SomeGuy01 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I was thinking of putting some hook velcro in there and using something like a bicycle helmet foam liner. Anybody have experience and opinions on either foam padding or hard hat liners? Like which they prefer and why.
wookieevader Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I did something like that.....it was replacement padding for baseball batters helmets....it works fine for me cus i cant use the hardhat liner....big noggin Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
