Options, options... options?

Hi everyone!

 

I'm a recently completed ESB-Stormtrooper that is looking to advance one movie and go scouting!

 

I'm currently in the process of reading up on the matter and am slowly getting to the point where I want to buy my plastic (duh.)

 

So, what I've gathered so far:

 

- I'm going to need a bigger bucket. You wouldn't think it if you saw me, but my head is long, as in extending to the back. I was thinking KS.

Now what's worrying me is that I'm hearing some not that great things about KS, what's up with that? I'd definitely be buying a kit and putting it together myself.

 

- As for the armour I was thinking SC. I've read several times it's supposed to be accurate, but what about the "upside-down-T" on the chest? There are almost 90° angles, where as it seems the real deal should be slightly rounded in the corners. Not a big deal, just wondering.

 

- Greeblies, where to get?

KS snout & bolts need replacing, I'm thinking of getting the SC armour and helmet from Chef after I sell my KS

Well, you hit the nail on the head with the SC armour. No, it's not the most accurate. MC is currently the best. If you want to wait a year or so, buy from MC. If you'd like to scout it up sooner than that, SC is what you want.

While I haven't seen Chefs stuff in person I would figure it is really good given his role here.

I'm one of the Cheftroopers, so I can vouch for the quality of his kit. It's made from HIPS of a solid thickness and seems extremely durable. His belt is one of the most accurate available and his delivery time is relatively quick. He has nice return edges on the chest and back armour and some of the other pieces and doesn't mind you messaging him for construction tips. The kit comes with everything you need to assemble it, you will not have to source any rivets/elastic/strapping from anywhere else. I would say that if yoyu're shorter than about 5 foot 9 you may find his armour a little on the large size (he made it to fit himself and he's over 6 foot). Here's some pics of it:

That looks great!! I wonder how the chest / back size up next to an SC. I think my upper body /torso is long and would like to have it sit lower on my chest.

He did move house a few weeks ago, so I don't know if his production facilities are fully up to speed yet.

Hi Greedo. Welcome to the BSN. I'm another Chef trooper. Great guy, really helpful and makes some great armour too. He'll supply in kit form or fully assembled depending on what you want.

Are you signed up to the UKG? As well as being cmd staff here he is also one of the scout armourers for the ukg.

I'm in Germany, not a Garrison-member as of yet, still waiting for my E-11. I'm getting the TB to take with me to CEIII. So I guess I'll see you guys in London next year!
