Good morning troopers,

The nominations for the new Detachment leader has closed. Since there was only 1 nomination that was seconded I am grateful to announce I have been "Elected" as the new DL of the Pathfinders.

First I would like to thank BrotherHalo and Vixx for stepping up and taking the reins of the detachment. Under their leadership the Pathfinders have been a strong force in the 501st!

The will be some staff changes within the Pathfinders.

TB-1019 will be promoted to assume the duties as ADL (Assistant Detachment Leader) and will become DL if anything comes up.

Vixx has agreed to step into the Armorer Position. TB 10-19 will be assisting her while she gets up to speed on all armor related matters.

I will ask EB Trooper and BrotherHalo to remain on Detachment staff and website moderators!

I also would like to remind all of the Pathfinders that this is YOUR detachment, not mine! I may have started it but all of you make up the heart and soul of this detachment. I do not like to think of the "Leadership" of the detachment and leaders, but more as liaisons to the 501st. The Detachment staff is here to make sure the Pathfinders run smooth and are represented at the 501st level.

It is my goal to make the Pathfinders more visible to the legion. I want to get us involved in as much as we can at the Legion level. We have a couple projects going on that I think will help this..

1. Donating to the 501st 10 Anniversary contest

2. Getting the Guidon completed and out to events

3. TB 1.5, nuff said smile.gif

4. New shirt, patches, coins and other Pathfinder swag out to the members.

5. Complete the news costume standards

6. Initiate the 501st Pathfinder Lance Squad

7. Get the BARC trooper standards complete

It has been a great year for the 501st and we have a lot left to do! As we celebrate the 10 years anniversary of the Legion, I am so happy to be home as Guidance to the best detachment in the Legion!

So a big thank you to Jay, Marie, Bob and Chris for staying on as staff and here is to a great year for the Pathfinders!

The OG Pathfinder is back!

Chris

I IM'ed with Army Scout shortly after he took over as Detachment Leader about my views regarding the Detachment and the new Detachment Leadership. I thought I'd share some of my thoughts here, too.

I'm glad to see Chris back at the head of the Pathfinders. Normally, I'm not too keen on seeing folks who "started" a group (fan group, detachment, chapter, etc) remain in a leadership position - I've been in too many situations where the whole thing has become WAY too personal and more often than not, an attempt at holding on to power and using it for personal achievements.

HOWEVER...

I don't feel that way with Chris at the helm. I don't know if it's the time he took off from the Legion. Or if it's just the time he stayed in the background. But whatever it was, Chris came back into the Pathfinders with a vengeance simply unrivaled by ANY leader in ANY group I've ever been part of.

In a way, it almost makes me feel a bit inadequate (I mean, c'mon! Look at the fury this guy works at!) but I'm secure enough in my self that I'm not thinking about that. What I AM thinking about is how great it is to see Chris really get things moving. Not only is he moving things along that I started (and wished I had had the time to complete) but he is moving the Pathfinders forward, as we should be. The "Pathfinders" have ALWAYS been the tip of the lance in any historical context. So it is with the 501st.

I'm proud to say that I had a good time leading the detachment after Vixx took some time off. I'm even more honored to serve under the Pathfinder banner with the OG Pathfinder.

Picking Jay as the ADL - perfect choice. Although Jay and I have never met in person, I know this dude, just from how he carries himself on BSN, CTN, and the Legion forums. Top-notch, balls to the wall, someone I'd be willing to "go to the mattresses" for.

And to see Vixx back on board as the Armorer. I'm so excited to see Rie back in the fold where she belongs. This place just hasn't been the same without you Marie!

It has been an honor to serve you guys as DL last year. Had I realized how much work was involved, I might have said no to Vixx! ;P But I'm glad I had the chance to help the Pathfinders leap forward again, help get some new merch projects running, helped getting the standards through to the Council, and making BSN a nice home away from home for all of us. I'm excited to be back at moderating the forums with EBTrooper and look forward to the next time I get to troop with some of you guys that I haven't yet met!
