Tristancraig Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Hey guys, Recently ordered a SC kit from Jeff, and while I was waiting i decided to pull together some of the soft parts. Boots seem too be tougher around where i live... Ive checked through a bunch of stores and all the workboots around here are either way off in looks or, unfortunately way off in price. Anyone know a good retailer in Ontario (Barrie or Toronto more specifically) I really made an effort to get a pair of the rustler advantage kmax boots, but they wont ship here. Any advice welcome. Tristan
zarintyr Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 At least you should have a much easier time finding a boot than I am. I'm in Japan..all the boots with one sole color are from Timberland and too pricey.
Tristancraig Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 I saw that you were having a struggle in an earlier thread, I shouldn't have too much trouble, just would prefer to get the right boot the first time, good luck with you hunt mate
4505Marcel Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 eBay uk has lots, just import them. 90% of my stuff gets imported from the States, just one of those things we got to do
Tristancraig Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 yeah ive actually been looking buying some from the US, just sucks to know they sell for 7.99, and i have to pay 56 shipping > hah
Dart Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Be sure to check out Payless for boots. Also, scoot by your local Walmart to see what's there. I've gotta redo my boots too so if I see anything, I'll be sure to let you know.
Tristancraig Posted October 2, 2015 Author Posted October 2, 2015 I've been bouncing around the walmarts in Barrie, but seems they just don't have the right sole, didn't even think of Payless. The wife will love that suggestion! 😂
Dart Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 There's always Value Village or Goodwill. There was a good boot that was on ebay for a bit. Ideally, you're looking for a boot that looks like this one... http://www.ebay.com/...=item541bf43bf8. You can always try hitting up the Cookstown outlet mall on 400 and 89. They might have some stuff there.
Tristancraig Posted October 2, 2015 Author Posted October 2, 2015 I was gonna try cooks and the 400 flea market, they had some kinda cheap work esque boots mid summer when I was lookin for some new steel toes. Should be able to pull something off. I had been lookin at the brahmas and the rustler ones, but couldn't see the link you posted, was it one of those?
Tristancraig Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 Hey guys, opinions on the wheat version of the boot in following link..... http://m.ebay.ca/itm/work-boots-Mens-Winter-Leather-Boot-Men-Outdoor-Waterproof-Rubber-Snow-boots-/391275144181?nav=SEARCH
bwattsup Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Looks like a perfect boot choice Tristan The little line all the way around the top is even advantageous. It will help keep the top cuts uniform. My boots were like that too. Have fun on your boot build.
Tristancraig Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 Right on. Thanks for the feedback, been really trying to find a good sole, would prefer my base start to be the right one, or rally close too.
Cborys Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Hey Tristan I have a somewhat personal question. How much did you end up spending on the sc kit from Jeff. I am just wondering considering you are around the Same area as me (Ontario) and with the exchange rate now. I want to make sure I have the right amount to cover the cost Feel free to pm me Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
