zarintyr Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I found 2 different kinds. Off white and white. Says 100% cotton. Called sail cloth in translation. Would this cloth be accepted by 501st. Japanese is called ãƒãƒ³ãƒ—. I found a tailor to make it for 90$ Quote
Guest Forrest Patrol Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 You can use either color, not sure about Sail cloth. Most use Duck cloth, I'm think you said you found some before. Quote
Guest Forrest Patrol Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 May be important to read about the off white cummerbund, pouches and drop box straps Belt and Detonator For 501st approval: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper Quote
zarintyr Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 So probably the white. The stuff I found before was too light. I read that duck cloth is used for handbags, sneakers etc. I think it's the right stuff Quote
Dart Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Yup. You can use a heavier cotton twill, duck cloth or canvas for the cummerbund. Just make sure it's white. The only off-white stuff (optional) are the pouches and webbing (chest-back, hip boxes, top of shoulder). 1 Quote
zarintyr Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Thanks. I will hunt down the measurements and copy a pattern and take it to the tailor guy. 90$ (better than 170$) Quote
zarintyr Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Yes, I am trying to find a way to post the cloth pics. Quote

Guest Forrest Patrol Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Yes If you use the IMG url, you can post pics directly Can't tell much from pics, if it is a good thick material then should be OK. Does it actually say it is duck cloth on the label? Quote
zarintyr Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 I shine the translation and said ãƒãƒ³ãƒ—. Translation says canvas cloth Quote
Guest Forrest Patrol Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Yup. You can use a heavier cotton twill, duck cloth or canvas for the cummerbund. Dart says yes, canvas is OK Quote

They took my measurements but no bund I didn't want to highjack Mon Cal Wait Time so I'll ask you here about KS cummerbund not received. Have you still got their PDF with prices? I got mine in 2011 so I can't remember prices but I think I paid about £670 GBP for ready made armour, helmet, gun & cummerbund. What did you pay? Quote
