Flightsuit reference pictures?

As I am a reasonable seamstress, and am fairly decent at pattern drafting, I would like to make my own flight-suit. Should be fairly strait forward....except that I can find 0 examples of a screen accurate suit, or a high res enough screencap to get a good look at it. I understand some of that is due to black being fairly non-photogenic, but its still a little bit frustrating. I've also scoured the 501st data-bank, but can't really find any pictures there either.

best as I can tell so far:

* fitted

* no pockets

* no visible zippers

* suede patches on the inseam, ending above the knee

* elastic attached to the suede panels

* suede mudflap

* mandarin-style collar

Is there anything I'm missing? or do I just fill in construction details (seam lines, etc.) from other examples of flight-suits we see in the OT?

I'm hoping some of your more experienced Scouts might have some tips/advice/details that you've spotted....

Hi the reason being we haven't really got any pictures of the flight suit. All we can see for sure is the lower leg and arms.

Really you have free reigns on what you do, as long as the elastic, and riding patches are in place and it's fairly well fitted, most use either a racing suit or flight suit

I'm using RedKap for my flight suit with the appropriate tailoring and mods. After doing the research it seemed the better choice and a bit less work to get it up to requirements. Living by an AFB I had the chance to look over some USAF flight suits but they required a lot of modification since they have a "billion" pockets and zippers. I also checked out the FAC flight suit but it too would require too many modifications to meet the CRL.

You can wear black coveralls, but be sure to tailor the arms and legs if they're on the baggy side. As long as it looks good and has what it needs to have (see OP's list), it's good to go.

We'll never find the original Esprit suits, so we'll have to be content with what we can figure out. I guess it's true that they give the hardest assignments to the best troops... :P
