zarintyr
I found a place called evolution props. They claim their cummerbunds are movie accurate. Does anyone know if it's acceptable for the 501st?
Guest Forrest Patrol
Many makers claim their costumes are 501st standard. Most members here prefer SC. http://www.studiocreations.com/howto/bikerscout/thecumberbund.html

Chunk
STAY AWAY FROM EVOLUTION PROPS!!!!!! When I first started back in 2007 I bought a cumtom made to my measurements Tie Fighter Pilot suit from them. I paind & kinda forgot about it because I figured their mail/delivery system was slow. After about 4 months I asked about my suit. Guy said it was almost done & wouls ship out in a day or two by DHL. About a week later I get a call from my wife saying a bag showed up from DHL, but I wasn't goin to be happy. When I got home sure enough there was a new in tact no holes, rips or tears in it, a brand new sealed empty DHL bag. I immediately sent him an email & his was reply was I shipped it I swear. Someone must have taken it from the DHL post office. I will send you out anouth in a few days. Wow about days later another DHL bag shows up, this time with a jumpsuit inside. I try it on, this thing is no where near the measurements I sent him. To show you how small it was the cuffs didn't even close around my wrists. With it being past the 45 days of the Paypal claim I was out the $165. I can't get my money back, but I warn everybody about thier shotty rip off service.
zarintyr
Aww thanks. I'll avoid them. There is a big cloth/sewing district 30mins from my place by train. I swear I can't find marine vinyl and will look for duck cloth today. I been calling marine suppliers looking for vinyl.
zarintyr
I've been talking to marcel. Great guy but it would cost 170$ for cummerbund and shipping
Guest Forrest Patrol
Marcel told me its nautolex vinyl, but I'm not sure if its white or bright white http://m.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=nautolex+vinyl+white&isNewKw=1&mfs=GOCLK&acimp=0&_trksid=undefined.TR0.TRC0.Xnautolex+vinyl+white&sqp=nautolex+vinyl+white
zarintyr
Hmm... I wonder if i can take the cummerbund pattern to a tailor along with the duck cloth (translate it in Japanese) and get it made.
wookieevader
No piece of any suit is 501st approved. They use this to sell to "newbies" and others that are not on the forums. The whole suit is approved not individual parts....i speak from experience. I bought something from a seller for my vader saying it is approved by the 501st and when i got it and posted it on the SLD they said it was garbage and it wouldn't pass basic approval....so these guys here know who to recommend for quality pieces and will direct you to the right place if you want to commission pieces. Its always better to ask a question like you did than spend money on something thats not worth it. Guest Forrest Patrol
No piece of any suit is 501st approved. They use this to sell to "newbies" and others... I fell for the same thing with KS. It's a TRAP!!!
zarintyr
Amazingly my suit is from KS. However the cummerbund was supposed to be included but said it as a padded shirt which wasn't included
TheBeardPrevails
Yes again, no Evolution Props. I ordered from them off ebay back in 2009.... I got ALOT of Fett gear. The jumpsuit looked very good BUT the zipper broke instantly and the vest was off, way too wide and sharp in the shoulders even after my measurements were given. NegativeEleven
Got my Fett ammo belt from them in 2010. It was some cheap Chinese cell phone cases that were way different than the ammo pouches pictured on ebay.
