vonzipper
I'm interested in seeing a review of blaster models currently being produced and offered, whether kits or finished models. If you have one or more models, I'd appreciate if you could share your impressions with us. I understand it the following blaster are currently available: DVH (Lou) TPE (Niko) Hyperfirm (scifire) Negativeleven (Chris) Based on what I've read on this forum, I'm not sure if the following models are still produced or not: UGP Hotshot The Duku (Duff) blaster looks like it is currently out of production. If I left out any other offerings, please add it to the list.
Nexous
Hyperfirm comes in one piece, very light rubber blaster. Seams can be visible (at least on mine), but can be worked down if you really desire to do additional work. EDIT: when I get around to cleaning my armor tomorrow I'll see about taking photos
Retrofire
I went with a Hyperfirm since I have a HFx E11 for my TK build. I have to say that I really love it for its accuracy and weight especially since it's going to sit in my boot holster and I don't want it to weigh down my boot. I'm not familiar with the TPE or Negativeleven's versions so I can't speak to those but I have seen DVH's version and it is really nice and light and a lot of scouts are carrying them. Keep in mind that there are a lot of, how shall I say this, inaccurate version floating around so I would recommend checking out the Armory and give the blaster section a good read. You'll find a lot of the experienced Pathfinders speaking up about their blasters and find examples of inaccurate ones. Best to you! -Peter
stasz
My holdout blaster is from Hole in the Ground Productions and I'm very happy with it. It's cast resin, and fairly heavy. I received it in a nearly paint-able state: well sanded, very few pits... I laid down silver primer and then flat black. Easiest party of my build It is heavy though, compared to HF or DVH which are both great options as well.
Griffin-X
UGP, Sci-Fire, and Hotshot are in my blaster review. The UGP blaster is still out there and you can still get one. The HotShot blaster is no longer available. I also hit up Duff on FB. I'm sure he'll be along shortly...

vonzipper
Okay. Thanks for the info. I definitely would like one if you do decide to begin production again! Thanks, Eric
01Hawk
Here is my Negative Eleven (top)next to my Hyperfirm (bottom). The Negative Eleven is larger and may be something you want to consider if you have big hands. The Negative Eleven on weighs 1lb 3ozs and the Hyperfirm weighs 10.7 ozs. Photos for comparison only, both are nice pieces and I was happy with the service from both sellers. People ( especially kids ) love the Negative Eleven at shows ( haven't had the Hyperfirm out yet).
vonzipper
Howard, Does the NegativeEleven come with the electronics or do you have to acquire them separately?
01Hawk
I don't believe any of them come with electronics other than the Kenner one. I thought you weren't allowed to have any lights or noises per the CRL but just double checked and there isn't anything about that so I guess you could. vonzipper
Oh, I was thought I had read the NegativeEleven were usually outfitted with electronics. Seems like I've seen several postings where troopers said the kids loved them: I just assumed that was because they had lights and sound effects. Maybe that was a misunderstanding on my part.... vonzipper
Yeah, that was my confusion on the blaster with sound. I was referring to a 3D blaster that gmrhodes13 (Glen) modified with sound effects. I don't know how I got that mixed up! http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=11418
