After I got home today, I decided it was time for me to grow up from wrangling and get into actual trooping. So, in 6 weeks (hopefully) I will have a box full of Biker Scout armor all ready for me from SC. Until then, we need to get the soft bits (thank God I have a crafty wife.)

I plan on updating this thread as the build goes on. Right now, we got a whole lot of nothing started, though we have the stuff to make the vest. So that will be the first thing, along with getting the stuff for the boots all set.

Now, if I can learn how to avoid trees...

You may not have started your build yet, but I think I can see a little twinkle in your eye :):D

And there's no avoiding trees, we scouts are drawn to them like the moth to the flame!dead.gifdead.gifdead.gifdead.gifdead.gifdead.gifdead.gif

Nothing is started yet, just waiting for a bunch of stuff to come in. My Red Kap flight suit should be in on Monday, my armor in the next few days, and I am unsure when my gloves and blaster will make it in.

And for the rest of the soft parts, everything is bought, just need my wife to have some quality time with the sewing machine.

I went with a Hyperfirm, the price was good for me.

On the plus side, my armor shipped today, and my flight suit shipped yesterday. So, I am omw towards hitting all of the trees.

BIG Update!

So, I got a box in today.

That's just some of the stuff. We got working on it, starting with the back tank and the thermal detonator. Here's the back tank as it is curing (with a bonus of my wife's Joker cosplay for NYCC in the background.)

Oh, and I got Gloves too. So, yeah.

Now, to make the things. Weee.

Giddyup!

I got my blaster from holeintheground productions:

I don't see them referenced very much, but it's a great looking blaster. 2 piece (scope and gun) resin, a touch on the heavy side compared to a DVH or Hyperfirm. Eric over there has great communication, decent turnaround and a fair price. Worth checking out.

I don't know if DVH is still doing blasters, but his are freaking sweet and unbreakable.

The Kenner recasts - to me - are way too big.

I know I have failed at keeping this updated. Been working hard at getting this done (well, my wife worked hard, I did a lot of trips to the craft stores and the like.) But what we did not fail at was getting my butt approved. TB-21611 reporting for duty!

That kit looks great! I wanted to see a few more suits finished using the SC armor before I dropped the ball and ordered it. Thanks for the confidence booster.

I really loved the SC kit, we did not have to do pretty anything to get it ready. It came in super quick, like in 2 weeks, and really we rocked and rolled on it.

I know that they are not the absolute most accurate, but for speed of delivery and cost, I think they are hard to beat.

That's where I got them, from Wampa Wear. They are a bit snug at first, so if you can overshoot the size a bit, but they are really comfy and look great.
