Ammonites
Wanting to get a weapon to carry and since I can't get the "good stuff" right now (maybe after the next convention or after upgrades). So, I'm going to be modifying a Nerf Long strike I picked up at the thrift store. Any thoughts on how to mod it? Did some repaint before along with sanding so I'm not worried about that part. Just basically what all would I need to do to make it troopable. Plans: Sand off all logos Paint flat black and add weathering Extend the barrel to give "blaster rifle" feel Saw someone doing a mod on the Mando site while researching. It's missing the cocking mechanism so I will probably just gut it and use as a static prop. Pic for reference: http://cdn.instructables.com/FX7/MJOE/H1JUH75N/FX7MJOEH1JUH75N.MEDIUM.jpg Have this extension for it so far, will add PVC pipe later http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140727211653/nerf/images/b/b0/Reconbarrelextension1.jpg Wanted to use this bipod attachment as it doubles as a grip http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110206050320/nerf/images/c/c3/Fhdgfjruy4weha.JPG Have a tactical light but will be switching that out for a scope later. Will also be adding a strap for easier carrying. So... Thoughts on this? Troopable? Or just my fancy?
Griffin-X
I made a Nerf Recon conversion carbine in 2011 and use it from time to time. Those Long Strike guns are realy cool, hope you have fun! The only rule is "not troopable at official Star Wars canon events", since it's not seen in the movies.
Obey Wann
I added a scope to a Nerf for my snow scout... it makes a good carbine. Like Griffin said, it's for non-canon troops... but is good for 99% of the events I do. Kids love it, and it adds something extra to the kit.

Ammonites
Looks really nice there! Looks like that's a long strike as well.
Guest Forrest Patrol
Those Nerf guns look so much better in more realistic colours and it brings out the details instead of being blinded by bright yellows or whatever. Good job! I was gonna use this until l get a more impressive canon (pun intended) weapon: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71GC3Aye2GL._SL1500_.jpg But then l thought, if l'm gonna use that, l might as well just roll around in a tank(!) Obey Wann
LOVE that scope Bill! Thanks! It came with my elk rifle.. but I upgraded to a better scope. The kids love it when they can look at my blaster and see that the scope really works. http://www.burrisoptics.com/scopes/eliminator-iii-laserscope-series/eliminator-iii-laserscope-4-16x50mm
Griffin-X
THAT is one serious scope! Your Snow Scout is cool too.
Obey Wann
Thanks! Yeah, that scope is amazing. I'm not a great shot, but I have hit targets to 400+ yards with it. Nothing like a laser range finder that adjusts to the drop of your round. The snow scout is fun. In time, I will get the parts to do a "summer scout" as well. I still love the original black and white version. I want to be able to swap out as the seasons change. I like what you did with the wood add-ons to modify things a bit. I think that is a great way to break of the nerf logo, or make it truly unique. I might have to try that. I went quick and simple and just painted mine, but I'd like to cover the logo (in time.) Ammonites
Modified a Long Shot that was missing a piece so I gutted it and added a few pieces from other things. https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/t31.0-8/11838567_692624104202733_8998772737093731669_o.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoibCJ9 https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtf1/t31.0-8/11850637_692624124202731_8886217406974292755_o.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoibCJ9 https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/t31.0-8/11894583_692624140869396_1749469547373147707_o.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoibCJ9

Ammonites
I'll see about going on another photo shoot and bring this along. Stand is the pop out bipod that I fell in love with, use as a grip or stabilizer for sniper missions http://nerf.wikia.com/wiki/Pop-out_bipod Attachment at the end of the barrel was one of the inner workings when I gutted the dart gun and thought it would look cool as the emitter
Guest Forrest Patrol
Here's my 3rd party nerf rifle before And after, no mods, just repainted and left off the ammo clip Also got the Ultimate Clone Rifle (below) and will paint to look more DC-15 and less toy. A lot of fans complain about the silly colours on Star Wars toy guns, completely forgetting that they are toys. For kids. Like me. Most people think Hasbro use bright colours on gun toys just for the obvious reason but it's also because some colours of plastic are cheaper for companies at certain times. Anybody remember those 1980s red VCR & cassette tapes? Maybe it was just here in UK. And before anyone says anything like "Since when did Hasbro make cassettes?!?" Chunk
Here is a pic of my Scout Carbine. I used the Clone blaster above as a base & added a Nerf collapable stock with a few pvc & brass pieces.

Chunk
Thanks Jim. Best part it still makes the real movie sounds when the trigger is pulled or magazine removed/added.
Guest Forrest Patrol
Here is a pic of my Scout Carbine. I used the Clone blaster My clone rifle is basically the same with different add ons. Retrofire
I was thinking of doing a mod to this type. Maybe change the muzzle, clip, remove forward handle and of course change the scope. What do you all think?
Guest Forrest Patrol
I would chop that front handle off too, remove ammo clip, add some 'meat' to the stock. A bottle of spray household cleaner makes a good stock. I kinda like that scope, but that's just me.
Ammonites
I was thinking of this attachment bit for the Modulus. Better emitter and scope, plus the folding bipod. http://www.nerfgunattachments.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/nerfmoduluslongrange2-e1427911054606.jpg

I have good access to a lot of yard sales as well so I'll be checking around there first.
