Improving belt to Lancer

So an idea that just hit me that might help some non Lancers (and myself) reach Lancer status.

 

While I was creating my TB, I finished my belt not within Lancer specs. As in I did the rivet method to connect the belt boxes. Now, if I were to make up some abs paste, or bondo, and cover the rivets, then sand smooth and repaint, would that possibly be able to be within Lancer specs?

 

I might just be crazy, but let me know!

The specs call for a single piece belt.

 

How you join it all together is largely moot as it will be the end result that get's judged.

 

It could be stuck together with snot and bum-crack hair for all that it matters, as long as it looks like a single part.

In theory, yes. But i dont think your going to get a clean cover of the rivets, and it will likely look a little messy or lumpy. What id suggest is removing the rivets, gluing the belt pieces together and filling the holes with the ABS paste.

Or just order a MC. That's what I did.

Just thought it might be something that could work. If not, then may as well just fill the holes with paste.

 

This was more of a money saver idea, rather than spending on a new belt. Il fill the holes and see how it looks
