Advice from women scouts wanted

Wondering what women have found as far as armour and breasts. I am short 4 11", am overly busty and haevyset. I like the biker scouts and wondering if this would work before investing lots of money in a build. Any advice on what you choose as far as brands or how to modify would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi there! I'm about 5'6", on the heavy set side in places. I wear a MonCal biker scout and find it comfortable, no modifcation needed. As far as being busty goes, on my current TFA TK build, I found I need to wear a compression bra to flatten things down as much as possible under the chest plate. I'd say this works for any armor situation. ;)

Good luck!!

Hi Jennifer,

Ok, Im not a woman but I just built my wifes Biker Scout costume in a couple days. She's 5'7 & 115lbs with 36DD breast. I told her normally I love her big breast except this week while Im trying to build her costume. The armor breast (MC)plate & back are fine & cover her perfectly. You can't even tell shes a woman under there until you see her walk. I have to modify her forearm & take down the shoulder bells a lil. But the rest is fine. I originally had bought me a new SC kit with the intention of making me a new scout. But I noticed that some of the parts were smaller than what I had on my old kit. I think it was an early version MC. So her's ended up being a mismatch of SC & MC & KS.

As for modifying all that is really needed is to take a rotary tool or Dremel & sand down the edges of the plastic to make smaller. The parts I did modify only required me to remove 1/4" or less all the way around. This was on the forearms, shoulder bells & holster. The holster required the most modification. I had to take off about 3/4" all the way around to fit her little boot. The rest was fine. The SC kit comes ready to assemble & everything you need to put the kit together is included.

The reason I hated her breat on this build was I was pressed for time (Celebration) & I had to guesstamte on most of her soft parts. I make all 501st approved soft parts for the Biker Scout, but I normally make them for men. So I used my same measurrments process for her. I have to pull tight the bund & vest to close cuz of her breast. Luckily it came out snug but fit.

As for investing money, if you can sew you can save yourself some dollars. If not your looking about $1000-$1200 for a 501st approved costume.

SC armor/helmet kit will run you $670, soft parts if you don't know how to sew $400+(depending who you go with) Boots $50-$75, blaster $50+, glues & epoxys apx $20

This is her in her costume. Looking at the pics, she's on the right in all pictures. the group pic of "Girl Scouts" she on the far right with her eyes closed.

Hi Jennifer!

I'll be honest, I think the scout is one of the best costumes for women, our curves aren't a fit issue unlike with a TK. I'm also short (5'5) plump and have Ds. In the Girl Scouts photo (join our FB group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/GirlScoutTroopers/), I'm the one with the beret and glasses kneeling at the bottom. I've found the only difference for me vs the guys is the chest piece pushes out slightly. Somewhere on this board from 5 yrs ago was me being worried that my boob wasn't fully covered by the armor, but it's a non issue once you have the vest and suit on!

For armor, I have the MC armor and I love it. Fit is fantastic. SC is also pretty good for us shorter scouts!

Thank you all so much for the advice was nice to hear. I am bustier than dolly parton (if only I was thin like her) so was very concerned that the chest plate would look odd. Also was concerned that i might have problems with the arm pieces being under 5 foot. I have some minimal sewing skills getting better and plan to take a class. I made a Jawa costume and lets just say videos were my friend learning how to use a my sewing machine, and it worked for that costume. I will have to join the facebook group.

Hi Jen!!!

I'm under 5 foot (4'11)....but I have no bust :( so from a short point of view, the only issue you will have is the gloves they do tend to cover most of the arm, , even if you buy the small ones. Guess what that had never concerned me until our GML picked on it from a photo. Still nothing much I can do about it. The other parts on the arm are fine you just need to trim and sand a little more. There is also another Lady in my Squad that is around 5 foot she is quite busty and loves the scout.

Btw try scoring a two piece under suit!

I'm a short, busty & love my biker too! I haven't really had any trouble with my chest plate. Most of the problems I hear about is with the fitting of the vest. I joined before that was a requirement & I've never gotten one.

If you have some other questions about costuming as a female in Star Wars costumes, please join our ladies ONLY FB group. There you can ask all those "embarrassing" questions and get answers from other women.

Looks good. Make sure you update your profile info and provide a link to your legion profile, then request Pathfinder status. Congrats!
