Altmann helmet for Lancer?

Recommended Posts

What updates does a stock Altmanns helmet need for Lancer?

Stickers?

New bolts?

Thanks,

Isaac

Got any pics?

Mickey - Here are the pics (should have thought about them when I asked. My bad.

The snout needs to have that underplate I believe.

The nose sticker looks odd

the hinge bolts are slightly rounded (think of a puppet or stuffed animal plastic eye)

I have some Trooperbay decals I can replace them with.

The snout looks okay to me. Do you mean it sits too far down in that groove? I have the DVH/Rottie snout so it was fine.

Some of the decals are off but you got the Trooperbay ones so you should be okay.

Yeah if the hinge bolts are rounded they need to be changed. My KS was held together with rivets so I just painted some 1 inch aluminum discs and glued them over the connection.

I assume the inside is painted black and there is no mesh in the ears?

Looks pretty good to me dude!

Ya the inside is black and no mesh or cloth.

I have some elevator bolts I could glue over the top of those bolts. I haven't tried to pull them off yet to see if its part of the bolt or if its just a decoration.

Thanks for the reply.

I have an Altmann and plan on going for Lancer at some point. I've already replaced my bolts with the 3M headband kit. The bolts were too short though so I had to do some engineering with some nuts and bolts to make it work.

The ears are only painted on, so I believe these have to be opened up.

I love that lid! :duim:

Like Mickey, I'd replace the snout with the DVH/Rottie version. I have that one on all my scout helmets. And yes to the bolts and Trooperbay decals. Got a pic of the back?

Dude. It's so nice! What are the Altmann's made out of?

It's such a bright white.

I'm surprised how soft the rear indent lines are though. I thought they were soft on the KS.

I was surprised by that when I got my Altmanns too. They're very soft.

Me? I love it. I've had a few small cracks appear on the edge of the squared-off brow/side piece framing the face, and had to replace the bolts for screen accuracy, but it's the perfect size for me and it's very light.
