Glove pads

I recall a kit that came with rubber pads for the gloves, may have been Mr. Bungle... Questuion is does anyone make the pads for the gloves or do you have to make your own? And do they have to be puffy?

 

I was thinking of going with a grey leather, but from there I'm not sure how to achieve the padded look, and do you just sew them strait to the glove?
