Tags Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Just begining my research, came accross these boots... Any input as to their viability? http://www.majorsurplus.com/Desert-Combat-Boot-P17112C2328.aspx
bselphfsu282 Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 thise look ok but I'm not sure if the sole is thick enough to modify the scoop at the beginning of the heel. I ended up using a pair of work boots from Walmart for 20 bucks. I just made sure the tread was thick enough to modify with my dremel to make the lugs bigger and to add a bugger scoop at the heel.
Tags Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Mmmk, I'll do some digging, but tan boots with Tan soles should work...? Hmmm I'll keep digging see if I can find anything with a deeper sole
Hunter CB4083 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Thats my Buffalino Boots for my new kashyyyk
Tags Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Thinking the work boot route may be best... How do these look... http://www.walmart.com/ip/Herman-Survivors-Men-s-Big-Timber-II-Work-Boots-Wide-Width/14663330
Rezboy Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 K-Mart has a 3/4 boot for $35.00. It's a better fit for your shin armor to fit around.

Tags Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Has anyone bought boots from Crow62 recently, what is the turn around time?
Rezboy Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 K-Mart boot is fine, but I purchased the 3/4 boot. Your Boot and shin armor will be covering most of your boots anyway. Crow62 boots are great, but expensive. It all depends how much you wanna spend. Check out my thread on "Rezboy" build for pics.
Grumpy Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Crow62's boots are the most movie accurate, but the turn around time might be better than what it used to be. Plus, he makes the soles black, instead of tan, now, for some reason... But, the choices you posted are all good. You just need a good sole to work with. To dremmel out the large arch and the smaller arches along the sole.
Tags Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 I got a pic of his boots, but he makes them white while the crl says tan, and yes hos sole is black... Oddly enough. I think I'll hit K-Mart if there is still one around here and chesk out their selection. I should probably have my boots so I can size the shin armor accuratly.
Mosi Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I have a pair of Crow/Gio boots from a couple years back that I completely forgot about. They don't fit me so I need to sell them. Pretty sure they are 10.5-11 instead of the 9.5 that I ordered. Never trooped with em! I think I paid $200 shipped so I'll go $175 shipped CONUS

dtrippler Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Ordered these boots... And my kit is on it's way just need to wrangle some help to build it now. http://www.kmart.com...=3&blockType=G3 Almost certain these are the same boots I used. I have a build wip that hopefully can help you out too.
Tags Posted April 26, 2015 Author Posted April 26, 2015 Hopfully these will work out... Yea, I'm going to need all the help I can get. Supposed to take the kit to an armor party so hopfully we can get the kit trimmed and gewt some parts assembled.
bselphfsu282 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Boots look good. Will need a little dremel work but those will work fine.
Tags Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Cool... I'll probab ly dremel them out this weekend... Hope I can fit my shin armor over them, well we'll see how much I can get done at the armor party.
bselphfsu282 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 You most likely won't have an issue with them fitting over the shoe. It will have to be big enough to get your foot through and that should be enough for the top of the boot as well. Remember, measure twice, then cut once. Or in my case, measure 5 times, cut twice, and get saved by bondo.
Tags Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Not looking foreward to the bondo... Somone sugested melting the cut offs in acetone to make a paste, I belive out GML uses it it on his clones... Not sure how it would sane down though... I'm concerned with the possibility of bondo cracking though.
