Hawkeye76
Hi Guys I checked one of the thread there was instruction that for Lancer The Alice Clips must not be used? I am going for Lancer and wondering if I need to use the alice clips? Or is there any other way? Also, what size rivets for the tank topper? I have a MonCal Armor Thanks Guys! Dart
Hi Kirby, While I'm no Lancer, if that's what you're going for, check out the metal clips (that might eventually become available again) here - http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=12263 You might be able to get by with another type of metal clip. Can't seem to find the post, but if I do, I'll update this one.
Southscout
The alice clips you can put in a drawer or sell.. I also glued my rivet in place. Much easier :-) And yes, you have the correct size. Skickat från min LG-D802 via Tapatalk
Hawkeye76
Thanks guys. Much appreciated. I will go ahead and glue the rivet to the tank topper. Patrick, would you have pics on how you did yours
4505Marcel
Why not make the rivet functional, and attach the hump with a L bracket ?
Hawkeye76
There was already a bracket in there by MonCal. Not really skilled mate, Would it hold better? and I am really worried of messing up the tank top if I drill. I had to paint it for a few times...lol already before and that's just painting. Why not make the rivet functional, and attach the hump with a L bracket ?

Can't seem to find the post, but if I do, I'll update this one. I've got these clips with my kit, but am unsure of the best way to attach them to the pipe... there is a screw hole but that doesn't look all that sturdy, so maybe glue as well? How do the rest of you do it?
Chef
It's plenty sturdy enough!! The pipe will break before the rivet pulls through the aluminium. Attach in the same way with a rivet as you will with all the other armour parts. Rivet head = TD Clip = TD Tube = Washer. You'll need to get a washer over the rivet on the inside of the tube (it's a bit fiddly). I tend to rest the washer on my finger tip, poke it in the tube, get it over the rivet, then turn it over so the washer locates all the way down the shank. Then squeeze the rivet up.
