before I cut.... what do you think????

Recommended Posts

Flap width looks good. Middle of the back of the thigh.

Man, you kicked on the turbo boosters lately. Coming along nicely, Wook!

In the above pics, I think the boxes could go back a little, but if you ran the belt straight through this is something that can and will be tweaked every time you suit up.

I would also try to level out the belt a bit.

I originally had my Scout belt where I wear my civilian regular belt and it was way too low and pitched forward in front. I had to hike it up to "grandpa pants" territory to get things to look better.

I might have to re do the box straps to move the boxes back. The belt height I'm trying to find "the" spot where it sits so i don't get the big gut look when everything is on. Once i find that spot I'm going to make the cummerbund. The chest armor is the next thing i have to get right before i start on the soft parts

Guest Forrest Patrol

I'd move the boxes down a bit just so there isn't a big empty space on my thigh and cut the flap 1or 2" shorter but wait for an actual pathfinder's advice. :)

More stuff today 😀😀😀

I got the 1/2 inch elastic for the knees today and will be adding it tomorrow or maybe after work tonight. I had to order 9yards to get it for free shipping so when I'm done with my knees i will have some extra for other troopers if needed

Was trying to figure out the pain in the butt riding patches today. I used some painters tape to make a template and place the thigh elastic

IMAG0820_zpssjgxzyku.jpg

I think it looks ok from the front but nobody was home to take a pic of the back

Should the thigh strap be higher???

Yep. The thigh strap should be higher, as well as the top of the riding patch. you want it to wrap around the zipper on both sides by a couple of inches.

Think about leaning forward on the speeder bike. Your zipper area would be taking the wear while you were straddling the seat.

The top of the elastic is going to be about flush with the bottom of your crotch. It's pretty much in the middle of the riding patch.

Hahaha! Oh man. Biker Scout Problems :)

I used the patch templates in the gallery and tweaked them quite a bit to fit my weird ass proportions. I was trying to lay them out with the legs spread wide open and it just looked completely wrong until I had the "Aha" moment of them butting against either along the crotch seam and extending like Barry said up along the zipper.

...If any of that makes sense.
