The lines look good. I used these boots and wish that I would have replaced the shoe laces. They are kinda large . I would recommend thinner laces or string.

What were you using to cut the soles? Dremel? Exacto knife?

Your lines look good now.

At the spot that where the heel transitions to the front, that angle there..just cut out the angle..no cutting is required above that angle like the rest of the heel.

Don't go too far towards the midline on the heel like I did. There is not much there. I had to make a repair with shoe goo.

If you're going to Jo-Ann Fabrics, sign up for their coupon thing. They text you coupons and then they can just scan it from your phone at the register. New deals every week. Good deals, too. I saved a lot on this whole project with that.

the question I have now is about the dogbone.... does it just lay across the boot or should it be tight across the boot???

Posted

Should be tight. Not super tight, but you also want all the edges of the dog bone glued down.

Don't forget the small strip that runs along the front of the boot. I would reccomend doing that before the dogbone.

Posted

I plan on doing that just want to check on the dogbone because I have a template made and don't want to cut it too short

I finished the toes on my boots. Didn't cut the strip yet that goes around the toe. Have a paper template on left boot for the arch to cut out of the vinyl.

Everything looks good to me. What do you guys think?

I don't have the knee armor to make the shafts of the boots yet.

I also have the blaster from Darth Voorhees assembled and painted

And I have another one that I believe is the Kenner recast complete. The Kenner is huge

What are the measurements of the knee armor so I can fabricate a template out of cardboard to finish my boots????

This is from the SC website. I'm not sure if it's their old or new knee, but it should give you a ballpark idea:

I was worried about the boot height without the knees myself, but I ended up just going for it and luckily it worked out.
