Headband how to fit?

Recommended Posts

I've just gotten a headband and started to look on how to get it to fit. I think the headband needs to be put at an angle first, the back being lower than the front.

I will also probability remove the two plastic thingies on the top.

Then I will see if I can drill new holes for the bolts, or rivet/glue it in place.

Something like that. Just think on it and then get all ghetto over it..

If anyone looks, this is how I ended up doing it.

Velcro, sweet velcro:

And then headband with corresponding velcro. Note that the top strap sits at an angle.

I couldn't get the bolts to line up with my Altmann or CB helmet either. I ended up doing what Patrick did and used velcro. I know the RS helmet is said to have the headband functionality in them. I've yet to see someone use the bolts and headband together and make it work.

I cut the brow of the headband and made it smaller so the bolt holes lined up. Then simply stapled the brow back together and re wraped the foam around it. I also trimmed a bit of the over head adjustable strap so that could be made smaller too.

Worked in both my LW and Chef buckets.

Patrik, thats a lonewolf bucket right?

Yes.... And it's miiiiiine....

Edit: but I think I'm going to look into what Mandalorean did. I had a major malfunction during the weekend (after two hours of non stop trooping) when the velcro came loose and the helmet fell down on my head... Looked like a drunk scout...
