My first attempt at carving up a pair of boot soles and I would like some feedback while I take a break before diving into the second one.

Nice job!

I only went halfway up around the toe on mine, but this looks really good. Might have to get the exact-o back out!

What kind of boot is that?

They look great!

One note I have, and this goes for anyone who's carving soles: The original depth of the cuts was only about 1/8" deep when I measured them from the Sierra Sneakers I used to own. So, if you don't have a lot of meat on the soles, or just don't wanna do that much carving, know that the original cuts were pretty shallow. ;)

Nice job man... i got lucky and found a pair of white boots at walmart where all i will need to do is put the proper cuts in the soles. still figuring out how i will measure them and make the accurate.

White? If you found rubber "shrimper" boots, they won't work. You'll need something more accurate for approval.

These are a no-no: 2085630.jpg

Agreed. Cow, can you post a pic of the boots you found so we can check them out?
