So I just received the resin scout trooper blaster replica I ordered. The heft is nice - it weighs about 1lb 3 oz - and the size seems fine in my hand. But I think it looks too big when put in the SC boot holster. It doesn't appear to be a mold based on the Kenner toy. It measures about 8 3/4" from end of the scope to the tip of the barrel. The scope length is 7 1/2". http://imgur.com/a/NHJzd#4

What do you think?

It should be about 7 3/4"-8" long (from the tip of the nozzle to the end of the ribbed section attached to the rear). Scope should be about 7" if i recall correctly.

I can measure mine tomorrow if you'd like, but i remember the measurements being around there. So it may be a little on the large side

I'd make sure you're either reinforcing your boot, or putting some velcro on your leg and inside of the boot to help support the weight of the blaster. Otherwise your boot will sag like it was cool. Had that problem with the heavy KS blasters. I troop now with a hyperfirm and it's like a dream.

Psshhhh you should have my blaster in that boot Chex! :P

Seriously though, Chex is right..i have a bit of velcro sewn onto my jumpsuit and on the inside of the boot shaft to keep it from sagging like a ghetto kids pants lol. Even with a light blaster, its still a good idea. :)

LOL if I didn't have what I have now, I'd have a DVH blaster!

That is a fantastic idea. I will likely do that!

Yeah, that's not based on the Kenner. The Kenner wouldn't have that scope ring, and has a texture on the handgrip. If it's a modded recast, like the ones I make, they did a lot of work, but it looks smaller than mine. That scope is definitely not the Kenner.

If your boot is a thin weak vinyl, try a layer of something thicker inside, sewn into the top/bottom where the vinyl is folded over and you can stitch it in a couple of spots under the holster. You could use leather or, as I did with my old boots, eisenglass (clear thick vinyl they use for soft top boat windows). Then add the velcro to that and it shouldn't go anywhere, but you might have a little trouble moving.
