With the issues associated with the CB helmet, does anyone know of a supplier that makes a bigger helmet?

I'm looking at the RS Props helmet, but without knowing how big the original helmets are, I don't want to spend 600-700 on a helmet that won't solve the problem of my chin popping out below the helmet when I talk.

I have a KS now and my jaw does pop out below the helmet a tad if I move it (even without a helmet liner installed).

Any thoughts?

well, I would hazard a guess that the RS one is likely to be the same size as mine.

I can find out more as I'll be seeing the RS boys in about 2 weeks.

I'm just starting my build and also need a bigger helmet. I was thinking KS but it sounds like it might be too small as well. I heard from KS today and they said their helmet will easily fit up to a 24" melon circumference (mine is 23.5")--just curious if you're close to this mark as well; I didn't think about the jaw dropping too far below the helmet when talking.

Chef, I'm literally about to click checkout on the RS Props helmet. It looks like they have a final helmet floating around their office. If you can have a look and let us know if its bigger than a KS, that would be amazing.

The KS is too small? That's usually the go-to for bigger heads. Maybe adjust the foam inside of it?

The KS I got from Darth fits me really well. I had to cut down the foam padding though, as I ran into the same chin issue.

FWIW, I wear a 7 1/8 fitted baseball hat.

NewImage is an idea. I sold one because it was a little too big on my frame. I liked it, but ended up keeping my KS in the end.

I don't have foam in the top of the KS helmet at all. I'll take a few pics tonight and see if I can give you an idea of what I'm seeing and see if it's an issue.

Anyone have experience with the NI v2 helmets?

You can see my chin cup a little bit when I'm wearing my KS, but it's not much different than what you see on screen in ROTJ

I have an LW and dont have that issue. I did a little bit with the KS. The KS is a bigger helmet around but its short top to bottom IMO. The LW is a bit taller, just enough to solve the issue for me.

LW helmets are like CB helmets in regards to acquiring them. They exist, but only a lucky few have them lol.

This is how the helmet sits without padding up top. Just cheeks and forehead to keep it in place.

Yeah, mine's about the same. Like, if I made a yawn face, you'd see my chinny chin chin. But with the balaclava and the collar up it's practically invisible.

I was gonna say that also. :)

Exactly how high is that KS lid??

I would make an educated guess that the RS lid is going to be about 235mm high (measured from the join where the faceplate meets the main helmet, straight upwards).

Hopefully I'll be able to confirm that for certain.

It does look a little normal. But still looks a tad small on you. Like Stasz said, with the balaclava and collar, you don't notice it as much.

Score!

I think this lid fits your frame really well.

Do you still have the KS for a side by side shot?
