I just got done with all the straps for the shoulders, biceps, and forearms, and threw everything on to see what needs tweaking.

My redkap suit sleeves look like hell. Bunched up, poofy around the elastic, etc. I think I'll have to take the sleeves in some - which I'm not opposed to doing, but I was also thinking about something like a snap at the wrist and maybe up by the elbow to help snug up some of the loose material.

Just wondered of anyone has run into this and how you addressed it.

Thanks!

It happens on all 'boiler' type suits.

Because they are effectively an 'over suit', they are naturally big.

The fastest and simplest way to combat it is to turn the suit inside out. Mark down the sleeves where it's 'fitted but comfortable' then get a sewing machine and run it down this new line creating a new tighter seam line.

Hem it off, turn it back the right way round and hey presto... All sorted.

Thanks, Chef! That's what I was thinking - basically what I did to the legs... snaps or the like would probably be over-engineering it :)

Doesn't seem like too big of a deal. I'll try to knock that out this afternoon after work.

Made Chef's suggested alteration. Worked like a charm! I'll post a pic in my WIP. Thanks a million!

Probably took less time than sticking poppers in too!

Was going to say the same, glad that worked out for you. I love those simple RedKap seams, so easy to mod.

I'm a novice at best when it comes to sewing, and have done the majority of my undersuit by hand. But I enlisted my mom's trusty Singer to knock out the sleeves, and it was done in no time!
