Ghalgor
I have pre-ordered the efx limited edition helmet from my EFX supplier (I own a gaming store) before I realised that it was going to be fibreglass (they don't seem to be getting in the Legend version). I have been told that fibreglass is not the best for helmets as it is heavier and that I may need to repaint it if I wear it outside too much. Thoughts, opinions? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
BikerScout007
I have an ABS helmet and it is really light for trooping. I have friends who troop in MLCs (also fiberglass) that have mentioned they feel heavy after awhile. And ABS is what the screen scouts wore. The RS Props scout helmet is ABS if you're looking for one that is made from the originals.
Darth Voorhees
I trooped an MLC3 for a couple of years and never had any issues with it. It was only slightly heavier than my LW which is ABS. It also has that "real helmet" feel. Honestly i wouldnt worry about it at all. Lots of folks troop fiberglass helmets with no issues. Dunno where the info came from that it would need to be repainted alot unless your rolling around on the floor with it alot lol. Vader helmets are fiberglass and so are higher end Fett helmets...never had issues with either.
Chef
GRP (Fibreglass) helmets are fine. Yeah, they're a bit heavier than an ABS one, but you should be able to wear one all day without any undue stress. My own personal one (which is #1) was made ultra thick and is probably twice as heavy as it need be and I can wear that all day quite comfortably. As for the finish... Depends on how they've painted it. Mine has a white Gel-Coat finish and is in effect 'unpainted'. The white finish is actually part of the lamination process. It's as white now as the day it was finished. So really that question is all dependant on how they finalised their process.

Evil-Inc
Honestly mate, if these are prodcued the same way as the Ep.2 & Ep.3 Clone helmets were produced, you REALLY won't want to wear it. I have the feeling that these will be display items over trooping buckets. If you want an ABS bucket, contact me via PM.
jkno
I think that even the Legend helmet will have fully padded interior just like other higher end MR/EFX helmets (not CE/PCR)
