In the 501st costume reference library, it says to use cotton fabric. I see in the how-to, that you used beaver nylon. Is that aproved? And why did you use it. Is the beaver nylon more tough and durable?

I wanted a light shine on the fabric (long discussion here somewhere). I haven't used it in a while though since I also have a normal cotton one. It's quite hot... Only good thing really with it is that I can pour coffee over it :-)

Started on the shoes. I'm not too happy with the soles on these. But they were the only one i found that was in my budget now. If the final result is bad, I'm going to make some new, with a better shoe. 1b1fc898840b7bd9708e32af4c272f57.jpg

To make the calf thicker so it will stand, I attached a layer of thick cotton fabric using "Iron-on-adhesive.

I drew the stitchlines on thin greaseproof paper then sewed.

Your build is looking great! You've come up with some pretty clever ways of lining things up and masking things off. I like that laser trick you did for the tank. Well done!

your build looks amazing!!! such clear pics.. I am preparing to start on my SC armor and am overwelmed by the work I have to do.. I am a complete newbie on building, sewing etc, but.... your pics of your armor is helping me! How did you determine where you had to drill the holes for the rivets? and the distance between the boxes?

Don't be overwhelmed....it is a fun process to make your armor. There is alot of excellent info and everyone will help you. Ask first and post some pics beforehand and let someone chime in and say if that looks right or wrong

Thanks wookievader, I am going to, otherwise it would definately a fail haha!!

@sith lord: yes the rivets on the belt, the ones to connect the belt sidepieces to the centerpiece. I suppose they should be symmetric, so same distance from the box, same height etc.. Thanks!

I cant wait starting as well, now I have some spare time
