Nexous
Hello Everyone! This is my first post, I've been a member on here for quite some time just sort of lurking around, I purchased and received a Studio Creation full kit (helmet and armor) several months ago and haven't gotten started until recently since my schedule up until now has been very busy (school and work don't mesh too well with free time). I just about finished my helmet and got it to start looking that way I want it to (I already know I'll be going back to it for minor changes like filling gaps and sanding down some areas). And I am now just beginning the process of the chest onto the lower half. So where I am stuck right now is the "soft parts", I am looking for the under-suit and from the links I've found on here it seems none are available in my size... I did however find a Racing Suit on Amazon (Link), understandably I'll have to remove patches... but what do you guys think otherwise? And for the Cummerbund, what is the best way to obtain this in the U.S? As for the boots, I'll likely make them myself following a guide on here.
Chex
You would have to remove the off black striping on that suit. Once you hit 5 posts you'll have access to the trade forum where you can see what vendors can help you. We have a member that goes by the name of Chunk that can possibly help you out. Also, welcome to BS.N!!
4505Marcel
I'm guessing that suit could work, if you could tighten up the looseness on you for a good fit. And remove all the details such as pockets, and those lighter looking detail pieces on the arms and running down the leg. You need to be left with a plain suit, so ask maybe for some more photos and make your mind up from that. I used a light weight cheap flight suit for mine, and run a stitch down the limbs to tighten it up I can make the cummerbund for you, or advise you on how it's made if you want a stab at it. I will definitely look into this option. I'm guessing that suit could work, if you could tighten up the looseness on you for a good fit. I don't trust myself in crafting something like that from scratch... I would certainly be interested, I'll send a PM to follow up. You would have to remove the off black striping on that suit. Guest Vox
I'm also looking at SC for the hard armor. How is the quality of the molds? I haven't seen any negative feedback on here regarding SC. Some people have commented that the helmet might not fit a big melon but that's about it. uscstaylor
SC is in my opinion outstanding, I just received mine a week ago and he did most of the work for you. I highly recommend his armor. Fastest delivery by far and great communication.
Nexous
I really like my SC Kit, it's my first and only kit thus far... but for a complete armor building noob it hasn't been overly complicated and they do include some base instructions on what to do... minor trimming / sanding needed thus far. It took the latter of the estimated shipment time for me, but it wasn't super delayed which was massively appreciated.
01Hawk
The SC kit is great ... The helmet is small if you have a physically small head. If you need detailed measurements on the helmet I can post mine if you like.
Guest Vox
Never sanded abs before. Any particular grain that is especially suitable for touching up all the edges?

I'm a big dude and need the biggest helmet I can find (I wear a 7 5/8 hat).

marktoots
Out of the box the collar will not meet the Lancer CRL but it is not difficult to modify. The dickies coverall I used had a similar collar. All I did was unpick 2-3" of the stitching along the edge of the collar from the point. I then remade it so that the it was leave all the way round. I then used one of the pockets I took off to form the strap across the front of the neck. I'll post some photos to try and show what I mean :-) The red line indicates the approx. Shape of the original collar. Don't let my long winded description put you off it was straight forward to do

outrbnkr
How long did it take before your SC stuff arrived?
rasman06
How long did it take before your SC stuff arrived? I just finished my SC build great stuff - mine arrived in about 4 weeks - you should concentrate in the soft goods first, seems it is always a longer lead time - SC has some the quicket ship times I have seen for armor of any kind
BikerScoutDawn
The cumberbund is available from a person on SC website for $100 since I dont sew I will be getting it from her. I just got my kit and I feel overwhelmed but I am hoping I can figure this out. My undersuit is underarmor as I saw a lot of scouts wearing this when I was a NCS with the 501st for a event. I am going to make the boots from the tutorial on SC but does anyone who has bought a kit from SC have any suggestions on the bucket cause either it didnt come with instructions or I have misplaced them- if not I can email SC also but thought I would ask here in case anyone has any tips
