Lucasfan7 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Hey everyone, I haven't posted on here much except for a few posts on supplies I needed, but I have started my build and want to get involved in the community:) So far I have a SC bucket and armor that I will been building, I ordered one of darth Vorhees rubber blasters, I have one of my good local buddies (chunck on here) doing my soft armor, and I'm going to build my boots. That being said and the fact that I have posted this on the bucket section probably has you wondering what my point is, and that brings me to my issue, I have hit my first road block and it is on the construction of my SC helmet. I followed all of the instructions that I have come across to build it and did it properly to my knowledge, but my side seams where the face plate meets the back of the helmet is not flush. There is a gap and when I compare them to the screen used helmet the seams do not loot right. Is this a normal issue on SC buckets and or is there a way to fix this? Or am I just being OCD? There is a pic of my bucket Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4505Marcel Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 They don't often go super tight to be honest bud, I think you may have gone a little too wide on the ear holes 1
Chunk Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 If you dont pinch it so close it wont look as bad. Your last pic us how it should sit. I hear you got an awesome Lancer Suit. 2
Darth Voorhees Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Yea man they never sit flush. Ive tried it on a few different builds, i was only able to get it really close to flush on the fiberglass MLC3 hlmet. ll the ABS kits will have a little gap there, but so do the screen used, so i think your ok. I agree with Marcel that ya may have went a bit larger on the earholes, but eh not the end of the world. 1
Bubonos Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I got my sc bucket a little closer but not by too much. This had me worried too but my gml looked at pics as i built my armor and said the same. 1
01Hawk Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Mine looked exactly like that as well. I have been playing with shimming various parts of it to make the lines a bit better
zihyer Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Building my sc now and having this same issue.
Griffin-X Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I love SC armor, but the helmet is too small for my noggin. I'm also not a fan of the faceplate line up. Again, great armor and customer service!
Cnearey Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I would tighten up that lense area. I went with this template but trimmed it about 2 mills shy all around
