Rockhop7 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 My shoe size is about a 6 in men's size. The smallest size I could find in a hiking boot was a 7. There is a lot of room in these boots. I'm not seeing anything regarding a vendor so I'm not sure where to go for my boots. My armor/helmet kit arrives tomorrow.
clonecollector Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Since most guys just use a work boot as the base for TB boots, couldn't you find a female work boot? I know my wife had a pair of work boots she used for the snow some years ago.

I saw the post about cutting the sole to replicate the original so I guess that is possible.
mxpxrobbie Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I have used kids boots to make them for women before...

4505Marcel Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I can buy the same boots for women as I can mens, but for some reason they charge nearly twice as much for them, and they are quite rare to find. I normally ask female troopers to try men's on at a shoe shop and see their male size. I then buy male boots to save them money, if your go smaller than the smallest men's which is usually a 6 uk, I then say try large boys on which go down from 5 and smaller. They are about though You have just got to be careful of some ladies hiking boots, have a much taller/ higher sole. You don't want them looking like ladies wedge shoes or similar
Chex Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 PM ShutterSith on the Florida boards and see where he got his wife's boots from. She's tiny lol.
Chunk Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Are there any Big5 Sporting Goods near you? They carry womens & kids work boots. Most under $30

Rockhop7 Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 I ordered these: http://www.dsw.com/shoe/mia+everly+bootie?prodId=326452&productRef=CROSS: I asked about these first so we'll see how they look for real. I received my armor/helmet combo!
4505Marcel Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Hate to say it but there are far better boots than those about the sole us way too dark and the heel to high, they really do look like a ladies boot. I would run those past your GML before proceeding with your boot build

Rockhop7 Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 Links for boots in case the pair I ordered ( http://www.dsw.com/shoe/mia+everly+bootie?prodId=326452&productRef=CROSS: ) isn't correct. The color added to the side of the sole comes down far on some: http://www.amazon.com/SafetyGirl-Steel-Waterproof-Womens-Boots/dp/B004RILNL6/ref=sr_1_82?ie=UTF8&qid=1420398511&sr=8-82&keywords=women%27s+work+boots http://www.amazon.com/Reneeze-DAILY-03-Womens-Mid-Calf-Field/dp/B00MP0XNIY/ref=sr_1_46?ie=UTF8&qid=1420398357&sr=8-46&keywords=women%27s+work+boots http://www.amazon.com/Reneeze-DAILY-03-Womens-Mid-Calf-Field/dp/B00MP0WUMY/ref=sr_1_42?ie=UTF8&qid=1420398357&sr=8-42&keywords=women%27s+work+boots http://www.amazon.com/Lugz-Womens-Shifter-Boots-Brown/dp/B00DZVZHX6/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1420398309&sr=8-6&keywords=women%27s+work+boots http://www.discountsafetygear.com/work-boots-safety/safetygirl-work-boots-womens-steel-toe-tan.html
zuyte Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Sorry I'm late on this-- I'm a size 7.5 in US Women's sizes. I used a kid's size 4.5 in a workboot that I found at Payless Shoes in Tampa for around $28. I've bought several pairs of these boots and dye them/vinyl them as needed. http://www.payless.com/boys-waterproof-boot/9599.html?dwvar_9599_color=tan#start=1 <-- these.
4505Marcel Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 These are the sort if thing you want http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290854428788?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT You don't want anything with stitching or different colours on the sole, yes you can paint the soles, but it would soon wear off. I wouldn't recommend painting a sole to be honest
M.J Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Dont you just love ebay....Sumkio compared to my size your huge...lol.. I dont blame you its not easy trying to find size
Rockhop7 Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 I went with a pair from Kmart that look like they'll work per our local Biker Scout Chex. Thanks for the help.
