Tips for sewing the rear Velcro?

When I was machine sewing the Velcro on various pieces it had a tendency to push the Velcro inwards when I ran it thru. I really don't want to mess up the uppers I have done so does anyone have any tips before I run it thru? I was thinking of gluing the pieces down ( in the center not the edges where the needle goes). This is my first time sewing stuff..

Not really sure what you mean, can't say I have noticed any issues sewing Velcro? I set the needle up towards one side so it runs on one foot grabbing/ moving thing and it goes through fine. Is your needle blunt?

I'm sure it is just my inexperience but if you picture the Velcro pointing straight away from you and feeding it in , it kind of moves over to the left a bit and ends up going in at an angle. I pinned it on the straps and stuff but don't want to put pins thru the vinyl. One tip I got on my 501st build page was to hand stitch a couple stitches first

I usually do the top fold first, turn over about 15mm, then loosely hold the Velcro on the side of the vynil. And away you go, once that needle has gone through it can't move, it's just a case of guiding it through and keeping it against the edge. I take it you are doing it with Velcro side up and vynil underneath against the sewing machines walking foot?

i sometimes do what you had mentioned and glue it down the middle with hot glue so it doesn't move, and then just sew it on the edges
