Musicaljedi
Ended up home from work today, so had my awesome wife take some more pics with everything on. Discovered that I didn't use enough elastic to on the arm pieces, so going to re-make those straps. Also, the vest sleeves end a lot further than the shoulder armor, so I'm thinking I'm going to have to have those fixed. I know the bicep/elbow armor wasn't high enough, this was mostly due to the sleeves on the vest and the need for bigger straps. How do the belt boxes look? Do you think I should raise/lower them? I left some excess material so I could make changes and will sew it up once it's all where it should be. Any feedback would be welcome! Felt good...had everything on except the knees/boots and pouches. I am taking the soft armor to the tailor on Wednesday to have the bund taken in a bit and to have velcro sewn on the vest so it doesn't sag below the chest armor. Also plan to attach the pouches directly to the underside of the armor.
Griffin-X
Not too bad! Here are a few things to tidy up: straps on the hang boxes need to be adjusted (front/back), vest sleeves are a bit long; take about 1.5 or more off or fold it under for the biceps; always wear the forearms over the gloves; just do it ; and need to pull up the bund, maybe even attach it to the vest so it does not slip (a lot of us use Velcro or a strap system). Coming along nicely!
Darth Voorhees
Looks good..i think Jim hit just about every point of adjustment i saw as well, except maye tighten up the bund, and the bicep elastic should be narrower. 1" i believe, but i'll have to double check the size. Nice job so far!
Smiling Fox
How loose is the bund? It looks like it could be tightened up a bit so it isn't so bunched up.
Musicaljedi
Thanks guys! Very helpful. The cummerbund is going to be taken in and will be attached to the best via Velcro.
Musicaljedi
Griffin-X, can you explain what you mean about the drop boxes? Thanks!
Darth Voorhees
I think he means shorten how long the strap is on the back sides of the boxes so the box sits straight and even on your side from front to back. The left looks more off than the right in your pics.
Mandalorean
Hope it's ok to jump in here. The rear drop box straps should really attach to the belt closer to each other behind the white box of the TD. Also the left side rear drop box strap is twisted. (I'm sure you noticed that though) Andy
Musicaljedi
Gotcha. Thanks guys!
Chex
The straps on your drop boxes. You have the ends on the outside, and they should be hidden on the inside. When you look at them, they should give the appearance of one strap, and yours is just looking like a loose end hanging there.
Musicaljedi
Thanks! I left the extra hanging until I was sure that I had them hanging at the right distance. Planning on tidying them up this weekend, once I'm sure they're hanging right. Also, I picked up my soft armor from the tailor yesterday. They took in the bund, sewed on Velcro to the vest to attach the bund to the vest, sewed on Velcro to the knees, and shortened the sleeves. Hoping to have updated pics this weekend and send them off to my local GML!
Musicaljedi
Still have some get the straps set a bit better on the drop boxes, and have to put some foam in the pouches, but put the whole thing on tonight. My wife was a trooper and really patient as I directed her on what to photograph. Here's a few.
Musicaljedi
Ended up getting the foam in the pouches, as I should've done before I had my wife take the pics. Looks a lot better, i think.
cucblack
Looks good!!! - Pouches more on the side and move up. About 1 inch after the last stitching bar. - Release the black elastic strap for avoid the Camel toe on the cod. - Move up a little the cummerbund or move down a little the belt. Belt must placed under the cummerbund.
