ShaunPug
Hey Gino, I may have an opportunity to meet with Ira Keeler...one of the designers/builders of the suit. Assuming I have the opportunity, what things should I ask him about? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Merlin707
This looks like it could be a rear sight of a handgun. Here is a pic of a more modern rear sight. This is way too big for a Handgun rearsight! The dimensions of the greeblie would not fit a handgun, and given the hand guns available for that era definitely wouldn’t fit. Even looking at rifles etc so a larger weapon, the dimensions are just too big. Just my two penneth from 15yrs in the armed forces!

The idea that they were handstraps came up but we couldnt nail down the source. Let us know what you find!

I'm not sure if it's really the same material as the originals but it's definitely the closest one I've seen to date - great job!
BikerScout007
Sweet! That reinforces what a lot of us always thought, that they were just 2 inch cotton webbing and not anything stretchable.
Whiskey
Found a couple of matching straps on eBay. Search: Vintage camera strap Keep an eye out for cotton or canvas. Looks to be the right material, not nylon
