echo
So my SC tank top detail came with a hole predrilled. But it is slightly off center. Is that where the single rivet goes? Or should the rivet be aligned with the center circle. If it should be centered, does the hole need to be filled? Or leave it as is? I am building for Lancer level. BikerScout007
I'm not an expert on Lancer, but I would say 1) It's got to be centered and 2) that hole needs to be filled. Weird, my SC tank topper didn't have a hole there. Some kind of defect?
Chef
I believe they are ever so slightly off centre (not as much as yours). I would say as long as the rivet is in place, it being slightly off centre shouldn't be an issue if you're going for Lancer standard. Let's wait on Marcel and the rest of the guys for their opinions on the issue.
RCMUSTANG
Mine is the same. I just centered the topper and riveted it in. But I have no idea how that would affect Lancer status.
AtomicW
Mine came with that same hole. The movie and all the reference materials I can find show it centered. Going to fill it in and re-drill.
UT Trooper
What are you filling it in with?
AtomicW
I filled the hole with bondo then sanded it down with a fine grit sandpaper. Finished the job with krylon fusion satin black. It turned out... OK. The texture of the bondo vs the resin is noticeable, but it's a pretty small detail. I should have spent more time with the sandpaper, would have been invisible.
