Ok i have a set of thermal det clips from chef.

 

I may be suffering from sleep deprivation but how do i apply these guessing rivet to grey tube. Also where about should they be attached.

Yes rivet or fix to grey tube, placement have a quick look at reference pictures and try to footy them as best you can

Yup, they go to the grey tube bud.

 

The clip is drilled for a 4mm rivet, so get some long ones and a couple of 4mm washers. It's a bit fiddly because you have to try and get the washer over the rivet whilst its inside the tube. (Whilst the end caps are off, obviously).

 

They sit approximately in the middle of the tube between the main TD and the end cap.

Oops...my end caps are already glued in place...good thing it's E6000.
