Tormund Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 How important is it to have a crisp kit for initial approval. I keep having minor set backs that are making me look a bit more weathered. I can clean it up (I hope) but it is starting to look lightly weathered with my mistakes. Should I keep it weathered or try and clean it all up?
Soundwave Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 As far as i know, Weathering should not have any effect on approval. I think they mostly go by the fit and look of the set on you. And, I'm also willing to bet that whatever weathering you're adding is not anything major that would cause concerns. I mean, That's just based off the idea of weathering while assembling, of course... 1
Tormund Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 It was not intentional. my stickers started pealing off so i tried to hit them with a little enamel to seal them in. All i did was get sticky and attract some black smutz around the stickers. it has a nice weathered look to it. i am sure i can peel the stickers off and get then stuff off with a bit of elbow grease. But it kinda looks interesting.
Fettski Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Pictures will help. if it is not too much weathering and it is balanced over the whole kit it should be fine. If you have a bunch of heavy weathering in one spot, it wont look too good and might get kicked back. 1
Skinner3D Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 You have to upload them to some other file sharing site, and then paste the link If you use the add image button from the editor you have to make sure the link is to the actual jpg or whatever file
Tormund Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 ugh I tried flicker and facebook. What places do you all use?
Tormund Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 They are pealing because they got wet before i put them on. I thought they would be ok once they dried. I appear to have been mistaken on that. So rather then order new ones like a smart patient guy would do, I end up in this predicament.
Smiling Fox Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I wouldn't suggest weathering off of just that. Even if you did weather the helmet, it will still look like bad decals over helmet weathering. Get some new decals and start over. 1
Fettski Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 When in doubt, talk to your GML. He/she can offer advice and maybe arrange a chance to get together to look at it in person and offer suggestions.
