batninja Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 As for the overall size, it's difficult to say as BatNinja has scaled the two images to match nicely. but referring to my above post, I'm estimating the overall height of the lid to be approx 255mm. I can't take credit for the image, it's CB's from the original eBay posting. But after looking the images posted so far, and the discussion, I tend to agree that there appear to be many discrepancies due to the different helmets and different construction/trimming methods. I'm not so bummed about the ear holes anymore. 1
mr_hair Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 My CB helmet does seem to be a touch bigger than most of the scouts I see, but I prefer that to be honest. I think it looks a bit more screen accurate. Sometimes helmets look slightly out of proportion to the rest, especially the shoulders. I love my CB helmet & will always recommend getting one. Also, if the pic of the trooper you mention at the top of this is me (as you PM'd me about this, I'm not being arrogant), I'm a short a*$e so that might explain why it looks extra big. 1
EnigmaEngine Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Hey, if I could currently swing it, I'd probably pick one up. I can't fit my glasses inside my KS, and the slightly bigger interior of a CB might allow it. But....one day. One day when I've paid things off.
cucblack Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Christian... Just to see if my scaling is working to any degree. I estimate the height of your grey snout to be 115mm. Is that anywhere near?? Rob, Take the measures. The external snout area is 115x480mm and the grey area or riser plate is 105x30mm
cucblack Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Here you can see the helmet proportion relative to the body size. Thinking in 180cm high for a standard size. Helmet is big. made mine with a 185 high for a reference.
Stroker Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 No helmet produced is "spot on" like was said every damn helmet is different. You pull three helmet from the same mould all three are different. Every proton pack shell I've pulled all varied from one to the other. I prefer a CB over all else because it's a bit more roomer and I like the way it looks on me. I'm gonna stop there before I start on the Efx. 1
Dewka Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Just pulled the trigger on one of Christians helmets. The SC is just too small abd that is all we have in the Garrison . I tried Chunks CB and it worked for me. But, as big as my frame is,and as big as my shoulders are, it will be proportional

I tried Chunks CB and it worked for me. But, as big as my frame is,and as big as my shoulders are, it will be proportional I also ordered one from him yesterday. I'm in the same boat with a large large head, neck, shoulders and chest, plus over 6 feet tall. The larger helmet should look better on me than one of the smaller helmets would. I tried on an uncompleted SC and it was feeling a bit snug. Here's to hoping US Customs works quickly.
Dewka Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Id like to see one of Chef's helmets. It was recommended to me but I havent seen one IRL. One of my issues is how tall my head is compared to the bottom of my jaw. I have to literally cram my head into my Tambo gunner. Plenty of room on the side but after an hour or so my jaw hurts from being compressed against the bottom of the jawbone. With other scout helmets my lower jaw completely hangs out.

When you pad your Helmet use a thick foam in the front (brow area) and a thin foam in the back. And you will have more room in the face area.
cucblack Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Here a pic comparison. Thanks to Christina from Germany for this picture. She is a 175 cm high and Helmet looks proportional comparing with the original. In a taller person would look closer.
Chunk Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Here is a pic comparrison to an SC. Im on the right, 255lbs & 5'8.
Donovan Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Lol the sc on the left should cut more of the visor area out, its too small
Landeaux Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Hey Dewka, my scout helmet is a cb and I am well pleased with it. I thought it might be heavy on a long troop, but I have not had any problems. 1
