Musicaljedi
Got my armor this afternoon and was very impressed by all the quality of the armor, accessories, shipping material and how Jeff was able to get everything packed into a fairly small box. Got a little work done today. Glued the greeblies on the biceps. Started on the tank/topper. Went a little heavy on the glue so had some ooze out the sides, but came off after I let it dry for a bit with my finger nails/exact i blade. Added the grey decal to the chest. Finally started the thermal detonator a bit. I've seen the greeblie placed both ways, does this look correct? Haven't glued either yet. Musicaljedi
Here are the biceps. Posted the same pic above twice.
BikerScout007
Didn't see the pic of the det greeblie. The general consensus is to have the tabs pointing up. There's some inconsistency but the majority lean that way and it's kind of in the interest of keeping things... uniform, pun intended! Looks cool so far! SC is pretty great, huh? Musicaljedi
The dangers of posting from my phone! Here's the detonator and I had the tabs going up as well. And yes, the armor is awesome!

Musicaljedi
Thanks guys! Hoping to get some more done on it later today.
Musicaljedi
Got the stripes on the tank. They look straighter than I thought they would but we're pretty stressful. Went with 4 stripes as that's my lucky number.
Musicaljedi
Got the tank riveted to the back. Used a metal for sale sign bent at a 90 degree angle to rivet the top and attached the bottom as well. Love the rivet gun! Such a satisfying sound that thing makes. Musicaljedi
I'm thinking the top pinstripe on the tank is too wide....should I shorten it about 1/2" on each side maybe?
EnigmaEngine
There's a really subtle guide/indent, but yeah. I don't think you're very far off. Check some build threads.
Musicaljedi
Thanks! Got up this morning and shaved a bit off on each side. I think i'm going to start working on the belt/TD attachment next. Holding off on sewing the elastic/velcro straps for the knees, elbows, biceps and shoulders until I have my softgoods, but will attach the velcro to those pieces so they are ready to go. Blaster should be here next week thanks to the awesome NegativeEleven, so will get the holster/magnets in place on the very cool boots I received last week from MXPXRobbie. 01Hawk
Not sure if you added it already but don't forget the round button on the tanker topper.
Musicaljedi
Added that just last night. Thanks!
Musicaljedi
Glued the greeblies on the back of the TD and painted the Makita clips. Hope to get this finished tomorrow. Cut out the holes on the drop boxes and in the belt buckle. Just need to sand/file them a bit. Lastly, picked up the Biker Scout hallmark ornament today....how appropriate that it was released the week I got my armor!
Musicaljedi
I'm planning on going off-white for the pouches. Does anybody know if Joann Fabrics carries the appropriate off white canvas straps and elastic?
Musicaljedi
Or is it possible to dye the white stripes I have provided from SC?
Rainfly
I think I read somewhere that you can soak the white straps in tea to give them the off white look.
Musicaljedi
I'm gonna look around today and see if I find any, but will try the tea route if I strike out. Thanks!
Musicaljedi
Was able to attach the clips and finish the TD this afternoon. Also cut out the strap holes on the drop boxes and belt buckle. Just have to refine them a bit more. And was able to pick up a few yards of off white 1 1/2 " off white webbing today. Picked up some snaps at Joann's today as well. Hoping to get to the rest of the belt this week.
Musicaljedi
I still have some scrap metal For Sale sign left…anyone think this would work OK for supporting the rivets inside the knees? Was also thinking of using two small pieces for the male snaps that get attached inside the belt buckle. I believe PandaTrooper used rivets to attach those to some scrap ABS, so I'm thinking I can do the same with this material.
EnigmaEngine
For the rivets, probably. I've got plain metal washers in mine.
Musicaljedi
Ended up having enough scrap plastic from when I trimmed the belt boxes. Glued the belt and am letting it dry overnight. Also created the shims for the rivets on the knees and the snap plates for inside the belt Buckle. Hoping to get some more done on the belt in the next day or so. Not going for Lancer, but really hoping to join the legion with this costume.
Musicaljedi
Glued the shims into the belt buckle. And got my awesome blaster from NegativeEleven today and installed the holster on the boot.
Musicaljedi
Is it ok to use 2" quick release clips for the belt attachment in the back? I attached the belt material to the belt with a single rivet on either side and have the clips safety pinned on there now. With the TD on, you can't really see anyway.
