Musicaljedi
Looking into a KS helmet due to having a pretty large melon. Was going to spend the extra $$$ and get it complete instead of a kit. Any one have any experience with these?
Soundwave
Have one. Love it, because it includes me to have space for my glasses. Assembled is easier and allows you the opportunity to not mess it up when you are assembling. Plus, if you don't like it, you can ship it back and get a replacement. That's something you can't do if you assemble yourself. Pay the extra. Just be prepared to wait to get it, and no communication. (Research feedback around here for more info) Hope this helps! Be well. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Musicaljedi
That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the reply!
Dart
The only thing I could suggest, is if you're getting KS to build your bucket, maybe ask them not to put the stickers and greeblies on, if you plan on getting better ones. The snout is far from accurate and the stickers leave a few things to be desired. They're all still approvable, but they're noticibly different.
Soundwave
Andry is absolutely right. You should go to Trooperbay and order the correct decals to go on the helmet. The ones that KS put on are okay, but if you're just going to replace them, it's kind of a waste. And I suggest getting in touch with rottie here on the boards for one of the DVH snout greebles. They are pretty nice to have. You'll just need to let him know that you have a KS bucket and he can trim it down to size. It's a little costly to get all the extras, but well worth it in the end.
Musicaljedi
Thanks for info! Which of the stickers are inaccurate on the KS? Is it mostly the fishhook or all of them?
Griffin-X
The fish hook, the nose top, and the rear traps are the worst. The KS uses a decal for the grey snout which is also wrong. The only decals you could technically use are the rear rank bars. As stated above, p/u a set from Trooperbay. I also agree about the snout since the KS greeblie is totally wrong. Get one from Rottie, it's nice. Rock on...
Musicaljedi
Thanks again for the info! Just ordered a new snout and will order the decals soon. It looks like Trooperbay's decals are the type that you put in place with the backing paper and then peel off the paper….is that right? spookymufu
Trooper bays are a mix a of both kinds. The traps are regular decals and so are the snout and forehead stripes, the barcode and fish hook are the type your thinking of (be careful with the bar code, it's touchy putting on)
Musicaljedi
That's the one I'm worries about...the bar code. Thanks for the info.
