01Hawk Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Since I have plenty of time to wait now till my suit is done The wait to get a fiberglass helmet isn't an issue. Painting is also not an issue. Is there only one place to get an MLC ( already have an email from what I think is the direct person) ? LW is mentioned as being one of the best but is there any way to actually buy one??
Stroker Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 As far as I know the contact info you have is about it. As for the LW get in line brother. Theirs several people around that produces buckets.
01Hawk Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 I have an SC I am doing now. When I ordered my stuff my goal was to have it done for June so the SC allowed me to have it done in time since the MLC seems to have a bit of a wait time. There is nothing wrong with the SC I just would like a heavier duty one. I can wait for the MLC now I guess but was just curious about the LW since it receives a lot of praise ( and rightfully so) , just stinks you can't actually buy one.
jyjellyfish77 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I love my MLC and it's worth the wait which was only about a month when I ordered it. Quick story, one troop I climbed into a SWAT vehicle for some photos and bumped my head inside on the door pretty hard. The paint only received a small ding which looks like good weathering. I'm not sure if it'd be so excited about it with an ABS helmet.
jameserec Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 LW is still a member of this list but he is very busy and as far as I can tell he is not making the helms for sale any longer. If he does you can bet there will be a rush on them.
spookymufu Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I have a MLC v3 too and like it a lot, it's not 100% accurate but it's a great helmet, very little finish work to do and only took about a month to receive
01Hawk Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Thanks! I am pretty sure I am gonna get the MLC v3 now. As long as I can finish stuff up for NY Comic Con I will be content.
Dart Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 ... I'm not sure if it'd be so excited about it with an ABS helmet. Not to take away from the fiberglass luv that's goin' on in this thread, but an ABS helmet would be just fine in the same instance. Remember, bumpers and other car panels have been made from the stuff for years. ABS can take a few hits.
