Stroker Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Dog bone needs to be trimmed down a bit and maybe bring it up a bit. Trim first then see what ya got.
Bobik96 Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 I may have bought a poor pair of base boots. The first pic is a wacky dog bone that covered the laces. The bottom is an exact template from the boot tutorial that I had to place upside down. At least I haven't glued all of the vinyl yet. I would be interested in more feedback before I order different boots. Thx
Skinner3D Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 the first placement of the bone was weird. I think the second one is good. I think the boot looks good. Seems extraordinarily tall, but otherwise good.
Bobik96 Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Thx. There are no hems in the boot so ya it's over my knees right now
Fettski Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I could be mistaken but it looks like you have the dogbone upside down. I thought the arch should be on the bottom.
Bobik96 Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Yeah it is taped in place upside down. If I put I right side up then the outline of laces can be seen. So my options are: 1. Show outline of laces 2. Upsidedown dogbone flap. 3. New base boots. Was wondering if 1 or 2 affects basic or Lancer clearance.
Mandalorean Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 They look fine to me. I personally wouldn't be too bothered about the laces under the vinyl. Once you've trooped in them a few times they will crease up over the toe anyway. Take a look at my boots before I cut the sole, should set your mind at ease
