I have to say, I never thought it'd be this hard trying to find a good set of boots. I'm looking for comfort, quality, longevity and the least amount of touch up work to meet lancer spec, though the first three are the most important parts. I think I found a pair that will meet my requirements, but I'd like opinions from the more seasoned professionals.

Those seem good from appearance, but I don't know what the soles are made from and if it's easy to sculpt.

I was told to look into the boots they have at Wal-Mart. They should be around $30ish .

Plus, you can try them on in store.

Just an option/opinion. :)

While I am far from an expert I think the 2 tone soles will be an issue and they are insulated which my be kinda hot. Plus they are pretty expensive ( although I would like to pick a comfortable pair also)

I got my boots and I've finished marking up a pair. I figured I'd post here to keep it all in one place. Is the horizontal stripe on the back going to be tall enough? It's about 1/2cm tall.

Same as the lower section. Just have to be extra careful. You will need to make several cuts & then pick out the "hairs" with tweasers. It will be kind of messy looking, but hardly noticable when your wearing your boots. Just take your time, took me almost 4hrs to do my boots. The 1st boot took me 2hrs to draw the lines & cut out. By the time I got to the second boot I was able to cut the larger section out with two swipes.

Bare in mind this is not counting the cuts I made on the lines. I used a new exacto knife from the .99 store, so nothing special.

After you mark all your outlines or cutlines, use your pencil & color all the sections you want to remove. This will help in NOT accidently cuttiong out your heel verticle strips.
