marktoots
Hi I'm currently getting together the bits that I need to build my flight suit and was wondering whether anyone could give me a rough guide on the quantity of suede I will need to make the mudflap and the crutch panels? I don't want to buy too much but like wise I don't want to get too little! I realise that it will be dependent on the size of the individual, base suit, etc but a rough idea of the hide dimensions would be useful. Thanks Mark
Skinner3D
I am 5'10 and I ended up using about a paper size for the mudflap, and about a paper size for each side of the riding patch. So roughly three 8.5" x 11" pieces I guess.
BikerScout007
The amount that comes standard from Tandy Leather was enough for two scouts. At least two scouts my size (6'0, 175lbs) http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/search/searchresults/9122-21.aspx

marktoots
Thanks. I've managed to get some off of fleabay which is about the same size as the tandy hide which is ideal as I intend on making two flight suits for those warm weekends trooping!
