01Hawk
Should the bolt go all the way thru ( with the circular base so it sits flush and then lock into the face plate with the square part and then the threaded portion just go thru the back part of the helmet? Without cutting the visor hole big enough to accept the circular base it won't sit flush.

01Hawk
Thanks, figured it had to be flush but the bolts that came with the SC kit are different than the 3M bolts... I will just get them flush and figure out the inside part afterwards.
Skinner3D
I got mine all together. Helmet hole is the size of the bolt the other two are the size of the square

01Hawk
Since there is the smaller circle base at the base of the square I will need to make the hole in the visor that size to make it flush. If I don't it will hold the flat head of the bolt out from the indent in the visor
cucblack
You must make the circunference hole with a dremel tool...
Gato
You have to cut the hole big enough for the base of the screw to fit in. You can use an exacto knife too or a big drill bit. Took me awhile to get both the 3m bolts in because the headband wasnt cooperating. Still sits pretty weird inside but it works.
NegativeEleven
I'd cut the smaller circle on the bolt to match the square above it. That way, it'll fit that hole and you won't have to hold it in place while you tighten the nut inside. If you widen the visor hole to fit that circle, then when you're tightening the nut inside the helmet, the bolt is gonna spin. Looks to me, that is what cucblack did with his bolts (based on the picture. I went to Lowes and bought 1" (the circle on top) elevator bolts that extend 1.25" into the helmet because I bought my helmet from KS and he just sends little grey plastic circles (meant to be glued on feet of furniture). They're steel and don't have that extra raised inner circle, just the square part to hold it when tightening a nut on the other end. They're a little thinner than the plastic 3M headband bolts, but that just makes it easier to get them to sit flush against the visor. 01Hawk
Thanks NegativeEleven. That is exactly what I was thinking. I was going to try and get the visor hole the same size as the smaller round hole so that sits flush and then square off the hole on the faceplate ( assuming that the visor will be glued to the faceplate) and then just have the stud go thru the back of the helmet piece. The bolts supplied with the SC helmet actually fit pretty flush and I prob should have used them and just painted them gray. The indent on the SC helmet is not as deep/perfectly rounded off. I apologize for the non stop questions. I have no problem trying different stuff and honesty would like to learn or practice stuff on my own- issue is I want this done for Mid June and if I mess it up too bad I can't just run to the store and buy new parts as we all know. Skinner3D
Understood. For the record, I only glued my faceplate and visor along the top edge and temple area. The bottom part is still open.
