01Hawk
SC kit comes with decals for the ear holes. Are they to be used as templates or actual decals to black out the ears? If they are decals do you have to have holes for basic 501st?
mr_hair
You need to have holes in the ears, then glue some black fabric on the inside mate
EnigmaEngine
Or paint the inside (where it shows) black. Either works, although open ears are required for Lancer.
Heavy
I would cut the holes out - it looks better + it gives you a bit more air inside the helmet I have a SC helmet to and I used the decals as templates.
4505Marcel
Yep just remove them carefully with a dremmel or similar
cucblack
Ear holes drilled looks better, more real and give ventilation.
01Hawk
Thanks! I have the back piece masked up to paint the inside black and the templates are on and marked. I am gonna paint the inside tomorrow and cut them also.
Chunk
After I cut mine I used some of that plastic mesh screen that is used for crochet & veil material over. I cut a lil larger than the opening, wrapped the veil over about 3x & sewed to keep together. I then used epoxy to glue in place. Looks great & allows air in. Total cost under $
Dewka
i cut the ear holes on a SC kit. i marked out where to cut in pencil and ground it out slowly with a dremel, then backed the inside of the ring with 2" black tape. You see black when you look at the helmet, with no restriction.
