Bobik96 Posted April 20, 2014 Share Posted April 20, 2014 This weekend I started my first costume attempt, a SC armor build. I turned my bar into a sewing room. Everything arrived packed in bubble wrap. The SC kit is self contained and contains almost everything that you need. It even includes decals. You will need more 1 inch black elastic strapping. I trimmed the shoulder bells in accordance with Pandatrooper's guidelines.The bicepts had squared corners that needed rounded. I glued the SC supplied tbits onto the slots.I built on Pandatrooper's idea of using PVC tubeing to support the TD caps giving more glued surface area. I found that 1 gallon milk jug lids fit perfectly into the supplied hose.I glued the milk jug caps to the TD caps with E6000. When it dried I glued the edges of the milk jug caps and shoved them into the tube.Finished TD with SC supplied greeblies.Forearms only needed slight corner rounding. I used model paints to hand paint the white circle and red line on the tank topper.I;m as far as I can go until I receive my soft goods from CB.Feedback and suggestions are welcome. 4 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I was assuming that the blue ray shots had the TD completely upside down. was also working off of this blurry shot. Landeaux Posted April 21, 2014 Share Posted April 21, 2014 When I removed the greeblie on my TD, that was attached with e6000 I used a box cutter. Starting at one corner, ease the blade under the greeblie and gently pry it up. Continue pushing the blade further in, then pry it up. Go slow, also don't try to pop it off all at once. Chef Posted April 21, 2014 Share Posted April 21, 2014 I don't believe the above is a flip Scott. I think it was determined that the Det was actually placed upside down on the walk-around. You can see this by the right over left bund closure. The way to be sure would be to look and see which side of the tank the stripes are on. But are we saying that whoever setup the scout for the bluray shoot made two errors on the TD? 1. The greeblie is upside down And 2. The whole TD is upside down. Chef Posted April 22, 2014 Share Posted April 22, 2014 What we're saying is that ON SCREEN, the greeblie appeared in BOTH orientations. Notch up and Notch down, depending on which suit was being filmed. It would appear the consistency monitor had gone to lunch that day in the costume department. BSN had to chose one to advise, and that is Notch up. As for the Blu-Ray. Yes. The thinking is that who ever put all the bits on the mannequin put the TD on upside down, and that particular set of armour (Mr 4 Stripes) has his TD Greeblie notch down. EnigmaEngine Posted April 22, 2014 Share Posted April 22, 2014 For adjusting the straps, I put the boxes on them and held them in back with clamps, adjusting until the boxes hung right. Then rivet.
