This weekend I started my first costume attempt, a SC armor build. I turned my bar into a sewing room.DSCN3293_zpsda44eee0.jpg Everything arrived packed in bubble wrap. The SC kit is self contained and contains almost everything that you need. It even includes decals. You will need more 1 inch black elastic strapping.DSCN3297_zps77d21bc5.jpg DSCN3298_zps0dfd7914.jpgDSCN3299_zpsedb3c72c.jpg I trimmed the shoulder bells in accordance with Pandatrooper's guidelines.23BC037A-15C4-4E70-9A34-740280AB722E_zpsjl6mrb5u.jpgThe bicepts had squared corners that needed rounded. I glued the SC supplied tbits onto the slots.53C1E09A-A1AA-488F-A934-6E4C8D24334F_zpsvpitf2mp.jpgF9AA9C39-48C6-4FBD-A6CD-CFCB656D8BC5_zpstxslffxx.jpgI built on Pandatrooper's idea of using PVC tubeing to support the TD caps giving more glued surface area. I found that 1 gallon milk jug lids fit perfectly into the supplied hose.FA1FD6CA-5C1B-469F-8BD5-B63C5F2D6FEF_zps9mmjuq4m.jpgI glued the milk jug caps to the TD caps with E6000. When it dried I glued the edges of the milk jug caps and shoved them into the tube.3DD1A23D-CF2A-471F-AC4C-F4628F79A853_zps4mhg4jtm.jpgFinished TD with SC supplied greeblies.F2CE6B9F-5FF2-4874-9CD0-4E225D6FCF26_zpsquuehzsx.jpgForearms only needed slight corner rounding.94166E5B-CE91-42A7-82E8-A4A4E8928072_zpsyhn9qvw6.jpg I used model paints to hand paint the white circle and red line on the tank topper.656F8E3E-C6BA-40DE-ADB1-72670458CC79_zpsx0eqqop4.jpgI;m as far as I can go until I receive my soft goods from CB.534837E4-8E33-4477-9034-489618F9323D_zps9uvioz94.jpg30B2E17C-2992-4041-BB85-1F1848757990_zpsckuqvsmt.jpgECC6B068-1230-44B0-A5BB-A19AC08D1957_zpsttqftycb.jpg36C3F7A4-BFEC-4730-895E-F75634705C9A_zpswexrcn7z.jpgFeedback and suggestions are welcome.

Very nice job, looks great - I´ve got the SC armor and helmet also, and it´s a clean and easy kit to work with ;)

Lol. I turned my dining room into my workshop. Good work on the build. Looks flawless.

Looking good, flip the long TD greblies over to match what the majority are now doing :)

Marcel are you talking about the rectangle shaped piece on the TD?

Great work! Yep, flip the TD rectangle greeblie. The notches should be on top.

Dang!!! Thanks for the comments everyone. I was assuming that the blue ray shots had the TD completely upside down. 84B8D944-5C02-451B-94F1-B98B388A6B1A_zps82ntuwq6.jpgwas also working off of this blurry shot. This was the best that I was able to find. E58E023E-56AC-4320-A243-24102A60C0D2_zpsjl0t2ctn.jpgi overlooked the obvious link on the CRL page.

When I removed the greeblie on my TD, that was attached with e6000 I used a box cutter. Starting at one corner, ease the blade under the greeblie and gently pry it up. Continue pushing the blade further in, then pry it up. Go slow, also don't try to pop it off all at once.

Yeah but the rest of the biker scout was correct. I was able to remove it with a razor and a hair dryer.

I don't believe the above is a flip Scott.

I think it was determined that the Det was actually placed upside down on the walk-around.

You can see this by the right over left bund closure.

The way to be sure would be to look and see which side of the tank the stripes are on.

I don't have my blu-rays to be able to check at the moment.

I don't think it is a flip. Now the question is, since I have removed my greeblie, which way does it really go on? 5B63E78A-925B-45C6-A368-357241B544A8_zps8xzecwfn.jpg

Yeah I see that now on the 501st CRL page. But are we saying that whoever setup the scout for the bluray shoot made two errors on the TD?

1. The greeblie is upside down

And

2. The whole TD is upside down.

Because if we turn the whole thing upright the notch would be on the bottom. The TD is definitely upside down.

What we're saying is that ON SCREEN, the greeblie appeared in BOTH orientations. Notch up and Notch down, depending on which suit was being filmed. It would appear the consistency monitor had gone to lunch that day in the costume department.

BSN had to chose one to advise, and that is Notch up.

As for the Blu-Ray.

Yes. The thinking is that who ever put all the bits on the mannequin put the TD on upside down, and that particular set of armour (Mr 4 Stripes) has his TD Greeblie notch down.

Gotcha. That makes sense. Thanks for all of the help. I have it glued on notch up at this time.

I finished the knees and belt tonight. I don't have the belt straps adjusted quite right yet. A6487102-82E9-4B93-B19D-CAD6504D54AC_zpsvju0th0a.jpg565CAF15-8427-4786-9523-2A15AB8DF263_zpsuknw1tul.jpgF89F22B9-4A9F-44D5-B15D-0456A18783CA_zpse96z01rz.jpg

For adjusting the straps, I put the boxes on them and held them in back with clamps, adjusting until the boxes hung right. Then rivet. Though by the look of your build, you're not having any problems!
