Yeah those are fine. You can get boots like that from several places. Walmart's aren't really that bad either.

Actually, it looks like the stitching is on the upper part of the sole (stitched to the boot), which would be covered by the vinyl. These look like good ones, and for a good price too!

They look ok, as said the stitching will be covered by the trim

Turns out I was buying from Kmart. The soles are darker than in the picture which look about right to me. Solid rubber and easy to carve with a razor.
