Guest Zaharia Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Is there a good pattern to use for the suede that is sewn into the crotch area?! I'm also not sure if it is supposed to be two separate pieces or if it is supposed to be one solid piece? Any help is appreciated! THANKS.
Dart Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 You can see the pattern here: http://forum.bikersc...indpost&p=89693 Print it out as is, and then scale it bigger or smaller, as needed. Take a look at the gallery at the high-rez photos and you'll see how it's supposed to look.
Chef Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Andry beat me to it. If all else fails, lay your suit on a flat surface and trace out a suitable pattern using the suit as a guide. The patch should come about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way down between your crotch and the knee, and extend outwards to the front and rear seam lines (imaginary ones, like you'd have on an ironed pair of trousers). Hope that makes sense.
batninja Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 The patch should come about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way down between your crotch and the knee... Just so I understand correctly, it should NOT come all the way down to the knee?
Chef Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 No, not quite.... As the patch comes around, it should not touch the knee plate, so it does need to be a little higher.
Sedavor Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 How high up the rear end should the patches go? we cut out the template and length wise seems good (about 1/2 to 2/3 down the inner thigh), however it doesn't come up very high in the back. Hopefully that made sense
Chef Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 You want it to come up high enough that the bottom of the butt flap covers it over, with no gaps.
HeyItsAdam Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I am not a seamstress by any means. I am very lucky to have a very reasonable seamstress who lives up the street and I bring her my handiwork to stitch on my wares. That being said... if you're a novice with sewing like I am, all I did was lay my jumpsuit out on the floor, flat. I used WRAPPING PAPER (because it comes in big sheets that you can unroll) to just kind of "trace" where the seams were on the suit. I basically did my best to just mirror the pattern that someone so kindly put in the link in an above post. To do the other leg, I used the same pattern, just "flipped" over to make the mirror image.
