It is called "BikerScout Thin Tinted Mirrored Helmet Lens Material" I thought that this would be a fun piece to have and occasionally swap into my bucket at parties and such. As such I also figured it would be simply a mirrored version of the plexiglass-like green material that is in my bucket and I assume, the buckets of most other scouts. It turns out that it is just a rectangle of mirrored film. Like a plastic version of tissue paper. Can someone elaborate as to how I use this film? Darth Voorhees Posted January 10, 2014 Share Posted January 10, 2014 the only thing i could think of is to get a clear lense and hot glue it onto it on the edges...but that may allow air to get between the material and the lens...so other than that...i dont know You should be able to find motocross replacement lenses in mirror that would work much better id think. Rainfly Posted January 10, 2014 Author Share Posted January 10, 2014 Thanks Lou, Yeah, that was my thought too. No matter how I attach it, it will be either warped or bubbly. I feel kinda ripped off. It doesn't say anywhere that its a film and to be honest, I wouldn't even consider calling it lens material. $9 I could have put towards a sealing iron. What would I search for? Griffin-X Posted January 10, 2014 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Get a clear lens and spray some soapy water on it. Then place the tinted material on it and squeegee it. Darth Voorhees Posted January 10, 2014 Share Posted January 10, 2014 ya know...for someone who has tinted car windows in the past..i have no idea why this didnt occur to me. lol Usually it does have a clear part you peel off and some adhesive though that activates when its dampened. Griffin-X Posted January 11, 2014 Share Posted January 11, 2014 Sure, pretty much anything flat. I'd just get some clear lens material similar to the lens you already have in green. Then just spray it and lay it on there. Once you squeegee the bubble out it should look decent. Just make sure your lens is slightly larger than the eye opening in the lid.
