dtrippler Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Getting ready to start my Kashyyyk and looking into the boots. Couple people have pointed me to Crow62 but have seen/heard a lot of problems with him. Haven't seen any updates in this boot forum in awhile so wondering what people think the best option out there currently is.
bjsavage7 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I think he'd make you the most accurate ones, but as you said, he's had a lot of problems. I got some Jango boots from him a while back & had to wait forever. Some folks waited a lot longer than me as well. I think some people now are using a type of tan desert boot, with the curve in the sole, but I'm sure Grumpy or one of those guys knows the exact type that'll work the best.
bselphfsu282 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I bought just a tan work boot from WalMart. I got it about 20 bucks but just made sure to get one with large lugs. I had to then take a dremel to it to create more of and arch, but it was quick and easy to do. No need to spend insane money and have to deal with a hassle.
Death Recon Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I used my tan tour boots and just dremeled the sides up a bit for more of a curve... The GML's know its hard/impossible to find the exact boot now so something that is pretty close is what your looking for remember cheap or expensive doesn't mean comfortable, you will be walking/standing in these for long periods of time!
Grumpy Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Hey, not too bad looking. It screams, "Take a dremmel to me!! Wear me!! Wear me!!"
dtrippler Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 Hey, not too bad looking. It screams, "Take a dremmel to me!! Wear me!! Wear me!!" Yeah, think they were only about $40, so dremmel time it is. Thanks.
gerald Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 my bots are almost identical just i glued em with llight grey leather, got no problem with my GMl so You should be fine with that ones i think :)Can try dremmel a bit just not to deep most soles in modern boots are empty inside .
RonnyTing Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Hi, My name is Ronny from Malaysia. I use to be very interested to be a Biker. ( still very busy with my job, so have not start yet) I just come to know about KT a few days ago from my son ( a Storm Trooper) . The Troopers in Malaysia is small in numbers, but they are very helpful. This I like very much. I cannot join the KT now due to job and family commitments. But I will surely be a Kashyyyk Scout. Following and reading the forum, I did have some ideas on what is going on. The more I read, the more interested I become. I was looking through the internet for more boots option. I found this "Desert Storm Army Combat Boots Military Patrol Side Zip" from ebay. Costing around GBP39.71 or USD66.44 I don't know how to put the picture in, but if someone check that out, and put the picture in. Its going to be a very good option.
gerald Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 those?as for me sole looks very good, just you would need paintor glue leather on that part with camo.and to mask zipper, mine boots are similiar and they work for me very well i masked zipper just to about 1/2 from bottom so i can partially open it,easier to wear em that way :)I think its great option for base for Your boots .
RonnyTing Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Thank you Sir gerald. Thats the boot I was looking at if there is no objections from others. Of cause the colour have to be changed. Ronny
gasmonkey Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I used this kind of boot and just dremeled out the soul worked perfectly.
