Boot Sag - Holster Side

Hey guys,

I built a strap into the top of my holster / boot, but still get sag. I am thinking about installing a rigid item in there like a plastic ruler. Has anyone tried this? Are there any best ways to do it?

Any advice would be great! Did my first troop last weekend and have a parade coming up next. I'm trying to avoid the sag syndrome!!

Take care and thanks. - Paul

Just install some elastic Velcro straps on the inside of the boot. The rivets should go through the outer holster, through the white vinyl, through the elastic. Pad the inside slightly with foam to offset the boot shank properly. I haven't had any issues with "holster floppage". :)

I've never suffered this personally.

Where I have seen it, it has been due to a combination of thinner vinyl, and the top of the boot opening being too wide.

But as has been suggested, a good solution would be either a large patch of velcro, or a couple of poppers in the top section of the boot, and corresponding bits on the leg of your suit.

You guys are great! I appreciate all the feedback. I do think the vinyl may be part of the problem. Guess I have to hunt for some new stuff and assemble some boots. In the meantime, I have some tinkering to do with velcro and such.

I appreciate all the great suggestions. I did put a strap on the inside, but I may have to tweak that a bit it seems.

Thanks guys!! - Paul

I've been struggling with this myself. I put a piece of sintra the size of the holster inside the boot that I riveted thru. I've got elastic around that, snaps around my leg. I've also got snaps at the top of the boot attached to my suit (inside and outside of leg). It still likes to droop about 3/4" lower than the other one. I might try some foam in there next weekend.
